Why You Should Attend Dish It Out for Kids
Dish It Out for Kids is NCMEC's biggest fundraiser each year for their New York branch, and it's held in Rochester, Buffalo, and Saratoga Springs. All of the money raised stays in the local area and benefits the local organization's services and educational programs.
Every kid deserves a safe childhood, and having a missing or exploited child is a situation you never hope to find yourself or someone you know in. Whether you're a parent, a guardian, an educator, or somebody who cares about this cause, there are ways you can help NCMEC and their mission to never stop searching or fighting until every child is found, and every child has the knowledge they need to have a safe childhood.
Indeed, your support can go a long way toward protecting your family and others in your community. Through their services and educational programs, the corporation works hard to keep kids safe.
Learn More About the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
After facing several tragedies, John and Revé Walsh and other child advocates founded NCMEC in 1984, as a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to help find and protect missing and exploited children. Their mission is to provide a coordinated, national response to these widespread problems, and today, NCMEC is the country's most trusted organization when it comes to protecting our kids from abduction and exploitation.
Since their inception, the corporation has assisted in the recovery of over 296,000 children, circulated billions of photos of missing children, and even trained 360,000+ members of law enforcement. NCMEC's services and programs include:
- Managing a national toll-free hotline
- Participating in the AMBER Alert Program
- Operating a CyberTipline, a centralized reporting system for the online exploitation of children
- Providing online resources, such as their KidSmartz Personal Safety Program and NetSmartz Online Safety Program
- And more
