August 23, 2024<\/p>\n<p>By Jill Nagy<\/p>\n<p>Tired feet have a new place to seek relief: the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Adirondack Foot Sanctuary at 6 Phila Street in Saratoga Springs. The spa, owned by Christina Frazier, offers foot soaks and massages, accompanied by essential oils, as well as scrubs, warm wax treatments and head, neck and shoulder massages.<\/p>\n<p>Frazier has a similar facility in Lake Placid as well as a business in Bend, Oregon. She expanded into Saratoga Springs, she said, because it is a larger town and business is less seasonal than in Lake Placid. She operated the Lake Placid center for six years. She opened in Saratoga Springs at the beginning of 2024.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love being an entrepreneur,\u201d she said. She also loves what she does. \u201cMy first love is hands-on.\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Frazier describes her method as \u201cheart-centered,\u201d kind and loving. It is therapeutic touch and massage, concentrating on feet and lower legs. But, she emphasized, she does not try to diagnose problems.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><span class=\"\"><b><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s2\"><!--more--><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>There are a number of add-ons available, including a dead sea salt scrub; a warm wax treatment meant to hydrate the skin; and head, neck and shoulder massage. The sanctuary also offers couples treatments, two pairs of feet sharing a basin.<\/p>\n<p>Frazier said that she developed the concept of the Foot Sanctuary when she was teaching in Asia.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The treatments are listed and illustrated on the webpage AdirondackFootSanctuary.com.<\/p>\n<p>For now, Frazier is dividing her time between Lake Placid and Saratoga Springs. She has three other therapists in Saratoga and six in Lake Placid.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She said that she has had a massage license for 27 years and that her extensive experience includes 10 years teaching at Central Oregon Community College.<\/p>\n<p>The facility in Saratoga Springs is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Story edited for a correction.
