She will be responsible for infection prevention and control at the hospital\u2019s more than 20 locations.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The Ballston Lake resident has 13 years of experience in infection prevention in roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, she was manager of infection prevention at Saratoga Hospital, a member of the Albany Med Health System.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>With her system colleagues at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Columbia Memorial Health and Glens Falls Hospital, as well as partners at other Northeastern New York hospitals, Broadley has played an integral role in the region\u2019s response to infection prevention challenges throughout the pandemic, officials said.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cMarissa has been a go-to resource and leader on our team during an often-frightening time,\u201d said Dr. Richard Falivena, vice president and chief medical and physician integration officer at Saratoga Hospital. \u201cShe has worked closely with public health officials and her counterparts at other organizations, identifying and communicating best practices to ensure optimal protection for patients and staff. Our hospital and community benefit enormously from her dedication and expertise.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s2\"><!--more--><\/span><\/span><\/b>A graduate of Binghamton University, Broadley also has a bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing from Dominican College in Orangeburg, a master\u2019s in public health from New York Medical College in Valhalla, and a master\u2019s in adolescence education from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She is a registered nurse and is certified in infection control and epidemiology.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Broadley is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology and serves on its National Conference Committee.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She is the treasurer of the Northeastern New York chapter of APIC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marissa Broadley was promoted to director of infection prevention at Saratoga Hospital.
