The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce will hold its first Southern Saratoga County Holiday Breakfast 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Vista at Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park.
\nThe breakfast will include a panel discussion featuring Kevin Hedley, Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce 2020 incoming board chairman, and board member Tara Anne Pleat. They will discuss their vision for Chamber goals and initiatives for 2020 and beyond.

For the second year in a row, Saratoga Hospital has earned an \u2018A\u2019 rating from S&P Global Ratings, which noted the hospital\u2019s strong, consistent operating performance, solid unrestricted reserves, growing admissions and leading market share.
\nS&P also cited Saratoga Hospital\u2019s \u201cfavorable affiliation\u201d with Albany Med. The S&P outlook for Saratoga Hospital remains \u201cstable.\u201d
\nBecause A-rated bonds are more attractive to banks and other investors, Saratoga Hospital can finance capital improvements at lower interest rates. That frees more resources to invest in patient care.
\nThe S&P report described the hospital\u2019s financial profile as \u201cvery strong\u201d and pointed to its \u201cmultiyear history of producing stable financial margins and cash flow\u201d as well as its \u201cprudent expense management and revenue growth initiatives.\u201d The report also noted supply-chain, purchasing and other efficiencies made possible by the hospital\u2019s affiliation with Albany Med and Columbia Memorial Health and resulting in millions of dollars in annual savings.<\/p>\n

The Prevention Council of Saratoga County has received an award for continued funding of addiction recovery centers in the Southern Adirondack Region of New York state.
\nOver the next five years, the council will receive just over $2 million from the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services for the recovery community center in Saratoga Springs, with satellite centers in Johnstown and Hudson Falls.
\nThe centers opened in the spring of 2017 and are peer-driven, peer-delivered services, offering hope to those in recovery from addiction and their family members. Each center has resources, makes referrals and connects people. Nearly all programs and services are free and available to people in recovery from addiction, those seeking recovery or their family members.
\nEvery month, nearly 450 individuals stop by the centers for assistance and to be a part of a thriving, sober community. Each Center provides emotional, informational, and social supports to persons in recovery, as well as their families.<\/p>\n

The Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center is running its annual Mitten Tree program through Dec. 31. Individuals, organizations, and youth groups are encouraged to decorate the Visitor Center\u2019s Mitten Tree with warm winter items. All donations will benefit CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Franklin Community Center, and Shelters of Saratoga.
\nPeople can bring new or handmade mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, or other warm winter wear to the Visitor Center, 297 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
