The Adirondack Trust Co.<\/b> has once again secured a 5-Star rating from BauerFinancial, a bank rating firm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Earning a 5-Star rating indicates this bank excels in areas of capital adequacy, profitability, asset quality and much more. Earning and maintaining this top rating for 49 consecutive quarters, puts the Adirondack Trust Co. in an even higher bracket as an \u201cexceptional performance bank\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This title is achieved after successfully earning the top 5-Star rating for 40 consecutive quarters (ten years or longer).<\/p>\n BauerFinancial Inc., based in Coral Gables, Fla., has been reporting on and analyzing the performance of U.S. banks and credit unions since 1983.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n Colden Co. Inc.<\/b>, an IT Services provider with offices in Ballston Spa, announced the achievement of Microsoft\u2019s Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions Silver Competency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This demonstrates Colden Co.\u2019s expertise in a cloud-first, mobile-first environment. This designation is granted by Microsoft to those partners who are selling and deploying Microsoft Office 365 cloud and hybrid solutions to the small and mid-sized markets.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n Skidmore College<\/b> has been recognized in national rankings for excellence in the liberal arts, innovation, student life and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Skidmore recently received dozens of notable accolades, including being ranked No. 41 by U.S. News & World Report<\/i> in the National Liberal Arts Colleges category of the 2019 Best Colleges rankings released n September. In addition, the publication ranked Skidmore in the top 50 for \u201cMost Innovative Schools,\u201d \u201cHigh School Counselor Rankings,\u201d \u201cBest Value Schools,\u201d and \u201cBest Undergraduate Teaching.\u201d<\/p>\n Skidmore also appeared on The Princeton Review<\/i>\u2019s 2019 list of the Best 384 Colleges, announced in August. Skidmore students, through The Princeton Review<\/i>\u2019s survey, earned Skidmore top 50 positions in the \u201cBest Campus Food,\u201d \u201cGreat Financial Aid\u201d and \u201cBest Quality of Life\u201d categories.<\/p>\n For its commitment to sustainability, Skidmore was named a \u201c10 Best Green School in America 2018\u201d by The Knowledge Review<\/i> magazine in August and a \u201cTop 50 Green College\u201d in 2017.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n The Mechanicville District Public Library <\/b>will host a Social Security retirement information program on at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 for pre-retirees wanting to make a more informed claiming decision.<\/p>\n Topics covered include: deciding when to collect benefits; navigating the new Social Security rules; simplifying your claiming strategy, and avoiding critical filing mistakes<\/p>\n The one-hour program titled, \u201cGetting Serious about Social Security\u201d is designed to help people take the guesswork out of preparing for retirement.<\/p>\n The program is offered as a public service by Retirement Solutions LLC. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Advanced registration is required. Call the library at (518) 664-4646.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n Employees of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce<\/b> participated in a training program in October about the state\u2019s new sexual harassment rules.<\/p>\n The training is required of all employers in New York state who have at least one employee and must be completed by Oct. 9, 2019.<\/p>\n The Chamber also hosted a free online workshop that featured a question-and-answer session on this new law with attorney Michael Billok, of Bond, Schoeneck & King. A video was uploaded to Youtube and was emailed to the Chamber\u2019s more than 2,000 members. The 33-minute video can be seen at www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IOmj03RWE_E.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The new rules apply to all employers in the private, nonprofit and public sectors. Besides current employees, employers must provide a copy of their policy and training to newly hired employees as soon as possible. The goal of this effort is to eliminate sexual harassment in all workplaces.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n Druthers Brewing, DeCrescente Distributing Co.<\/b> and Discover Saratoga<\/b> are sponsoring the Toys for Toga, the sixth annual event to collect holiday gifts for children in need.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Members of our local communities can donate new, unwrapped toys to help spread holiday cheer.
