The site in Glens Falls has been changed from an eat-in location to a catering facility.<br \/>Courtesy Dizzy Chicken<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>By Jill Nagy<\/p>\n<p>After nearly three years in Glens Falls, Dizzy Chicken is shifting its restaurant operations to a newer outlet in Saratoga Springs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Glens Falls site, at 72 South St., will be devoted exclusively to a catering facility.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Bartlett, co-owner with his wife, Annamaria, attributed the change to a poor location and lack of parking in Glens Falls.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe business was not large enough to merit keeping it going,\u201d he said. The Saratoga restaurant opened in August 2017 and is \u201cgoing well,\u201d he said, \u201cand kind of met our expectations for the winter.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He describes Dizzy Chicken\u2019s offerings as \u201cbarbecue with a twist, a little bit of a Mediterranean influence.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>They smoke their own meat, bake their own focaccia bread and make their own mozzarella cheese. Sauces and dressings and most desserts are also made in-house, he added.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The pricing structure, he said, \u201cis good for people who are here year-round.\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Saratoga restaurant is located at 102 Congress St., near the Embassy Suites. It can seat 67 inside the restaurant and 20 more outdoors, weather permitting. Parking is available in back of the restaurant. They offer take-out and delivery as well as eat-in service.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>They are open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. \u201cSunday is our family day, our day to get to church,\u201d he said, but they may break that rule during track season.<\/p>\n<p>Bartlett shares cooking duties with Shane Wilbur.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Annamaria works out front and takes care of the business end of things. There are a total of 18 employees.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Glens Falls, the catering business has \u201creally grown\u201d and that facility will become a full-time catering location. Catering will be off site only. Bartlett anticipates serving groups of 100 or more.<\/p>\n<p>The facility has all new equipment and is \u201cready to go\u201d if circumstances change. If, for example, plans for a nearby farmers\u2019 market in Glens Falls materialize\u2014with parking\u2014materialize, \u201call we have to do is open the door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dizzy Chicken can be reached at (518) 583-4099.
