Belmonte Builders has plans to build a 24-unit condominium development on a six-acre site near Saratoga Lake.<\/p>\n
We are \u201cearly in the presentation phase,\u201d said Peter Belmonte, company president.<\/p>\n
The plans call for 12 duplexes, each comprised of two townhomes or carriage homes that will have the appearance of single-family homes.<\/p>\n
Belmonte said the units will be sold as condominiums. He said owners would have a \u201cvery convenient life style\u201d with maintenance-free residences. There will be sidewalks and pedestrian access to the lake<\/p>\n
He said he hopes to be able to begin construction by the end of the year, assuming that the planning board gives its approval.<\/p>\n
The site is near Regatta View Drive and Dyer Switch Road, near Fish Creek and Saratoga Lake. It will adjoin\u00a0 the much larger Regatta View and Interlaken developments, developed by Belmonte in the 1980s.<\/p>\n

He described the proposed development as \u201cgreen\u201d and \u201cenvironmentally friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are leaving a massive amount of open space and tree vegetation,\u201c he said. Because the development is small, Belmonte said, no community facilities are planned. However, residents will have access to facilities in the larger subdivisions nearby.<\/p>\n
He said prices will probably be in the upper $300,000 range. They will be two- or three-bedroom units with the master bedroom and a family room on the first floor and the additional bedroom or bedrooms, and a loft, on the second floor.\u00a0 Sizes will vary. They will be 1,800 square feet, 2,200 square feet, or 2,400 square feet.<\/p>\n
Belmonte Builders was started in 1977.
