Luke Construction Co. Inc. of Schenectady is<br \/>\nthe general contractor on the project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Saratoga Springs market is underserved in<br \/>\nterms of luxurious, yet affordable housing options<br \/>\nfor those over 55,&#8221; said DeSantis. &#8220;This community<br \/>\nwill give seniors tremendous value for their money<br \/>\nas there are no entrance fees. Included in each<br \/>\nmonth&#8217;s rental fees is access to our Senior Engaged<br \/>\nLife (SEL) program, which allows residents to remain<br \/>\nactive in mind, body and spirit as they enjoy<br \/>\neverything from regular speakers and outings to<br \/>\npilates and cooking classes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Completion is expected by this summer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nDeSantis said the Summit at Saratoga will<br \/>\noffer age-restricted, independent living rental<br \/>\napartments. The community will feature a mix of<br \/>\none- and two-bedroom apartments ranging in size<br \/>\nfrom 715 to 1,065 square feet.<\/p>\n<p>Finishes will include upscale carpeting and floor<br \/>\ntile, granite countertops, balconies\/patios for all<br \/>\napartments, full-size washers and dryers in each<br \/>\napartment, central air conditioning and 24-hour<br \/>\nemergency services through an emergency call<br \/>\nand fire detection system.<\/p>\n<p>He said rents will also include cable television<br \/>\nand Internet service, water, sewer, trash and full<br \/>\naccess to the SEL services featuring links and<br \/>\nreferrals to community service providers, educational<br \/>\nprograms, health and wellness activities,<br \/>\nrecreational events, finance\/legal resources, social<br \/>\nopportunities, transportation services for shopping<br \/>\nand medical visits, as well as a daily continental<br \/>\nbreakfast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that Capital Region seniors who<br \/>\nenjoy an active lifestyle will be attracted to the<br \/>\nSummit at Saratoga,&#8221; said DeSantis. &#8220;This community<br \/>\nis within minutes of an array of retail<br \/>\nconveniences including major grocery and big<br \/>\nbox outlets. The site is also a short distance from<br \/>\ndowntown Saratoga for those who enjoy fine dining<br \/>\nand other attractions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Summit at Saratoga is Summit Senior Living&#8217;s<br \/>\nthird Capital Region project. Eastwyck Village,<br \/>\na 144-unit senior retirement community for<br \/>\nseniors 62 and older, opened in North Greenbush<br \/>\nin 2011.
