Owners and<br \/>\nexecutives of Saratoga Casino and Raceway,<br \/>\nKirchhoff-Consigli Construction Management<br \/>\nand Tishman Construction, an AECOM<br \/>\ncompany, joined dozens of ironworkers in<br \/>\nsigning the final piece of steel with their well<br \/>\nwishes for the project.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with tradition, a Douglas fir<br \/>\nand American flag were also hoisted up on the<br \/>\nfinal piece of steel.<br \/>\n&#8220;The impressive rate at which this project is<br \/>\nbeing built is testament to the hard work of our entire construction team,&#8221; said Tom Wiedmayer,<br \/>\nexecutive vice president and general manager<br \/>\nof Saratoga Casino and Raceway. &#8220;We are<br \/>\nparticularly thankful for our long and<br \/>\nsuccessful partnership with the Greater Capital<br \/>\nRegion Building and Trades Council, whose<br \/>\nmembers have done a tremendous job in<br \/>\nreaching this important milestone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to casino officials, since breaking<br \/>\nground on May 27, the expansion of the facility<br \/>\nand construction of a new hotel has generated<br \/>\nmore than $100,000 in sales tax revenue. Some<br \/>\n12,000 cubic yards of backfill have been used to<br \/>\nbring the site up to grade, 1,500 cubic yards of<br \/>\nconcrete have been placed for the foundations,<br \/>\nand 650 tons of steel have been hoisted into<br \/>\nplace. The work has been accomplished with<br \/>\nnearly 12,000 logged man hours.<\/p>\n<p>Set to open for the summer of 2016, the<br \/>\n$34 million, 123,000-square-foot hotel project is being managed by a joint venture between<br \/>\nKirchoff-Consigli Construction Management<br \/>\nand Tishman Construction, an AECOM<br \/>\ncompany. The hotel was designed by JCJ<br \/>\nArchitecture, the same firm that designed the<br \/>\ncasino&#8217;s original gaming floor, as well as the<br \/>\n2007 expansion featuring additional gaming<br \/>\nspace, the Garden Buffet and Vapor nightclub.<\/p>\n<p>Since its initial design, minor modifications<br \/>\nhave been made to the Saratoga Casino Hotel,<br \/>\nbringing the room count to 117, including nine<br \/>\nsuites. Amenities in the hotel will include an<br \/>\nindoor pool, fitness center, lobby bar, meeting and banquet rooms, and signature fine dining<br \/>\nrestaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Saratoga Casino and Raceway, on Crescent<br \/>\nAvenue in Saratoga Springs, features over<br \/>\n1,700 slots, electronic table games, Vapor, two<br \/>\nfull-service restaurants with buffets, a casual<br \/>\ndining restaurant, three full-service bars, deli<br \/>\nand a variety of guest services including valet<br \/>\nparking and coat check. Operating hours for<br \/>\nthe gaming facility are 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. every<br \/>\nday.
