He<br \/>\nexpects to open the Saratoga Springs office with 20<br \/>\npeople, mainly brokers. His goal is to grow the office<br \/>\nto 100 people.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss described Keller Williams as the largest<br \/>\nreal estate brand in the country, with some 114,000<br \/>\nassociates and the company adds more than 25,000<br \/>\nmore each year. He and his wife, who own the local<br \/>\nfranchise together, already have offices in Latham<br \/>\nand Delmar. He reported 24 percent growth last<br \/>\nyear and expects similar growth in 2015.<br \/>\nHe characterized Saratoga as a &#8220;stellar market<br \/>\n&#8230; I love the community and the culture.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The parent company has a different business<br \/>\nmodel from other national real estate organizations,<br \/>\nWeiss said. Realtors are independent contractors<br \/>\n(the usual arrangement) but Keller Williams helps<br \/>\nthem grow their brand, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We build a partnership with our associates,&#8221; he<br \/>\nsaid, including a profit-sharing plan. The company<br \/>\nalso provides training. &#8220;We train them to help them<br \/>\nbecome business owners,&#8221; providing classes and<br \/>\ncoaching for brokers and associates.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss said he grew up in a commercial real estate<br \/>\nfamily. His father is a Capital District and Massachusetts<br \/>\ndeveloper. Some of his recent projects were the<br \/>\nPrice Chopper headquarters in Schenectady and<br \/>\nthe Starlight Music Theater in Latham.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss can be reached at 229-9099.
