Lady Sheila Stable Two, LLC, a newly
\nlaunched syndicate that started adding
\ninvestors in May, ran its first horse on the
\nracetrack in September.<\/p>\n
Hot Like Hepburn made her debut in the
\nfourth race at Belmont Park on Sept. 17, in
\na Maiden Special Weight race for New Yorkbreds.
\nThe two-year-old filly did not finish
\nin the money.<\/p>\n
Lady Sheila Stable Two, managed by
\nSheila Rosenblum, who is also the owner
\nof Lady Sheila Stable, relies significantly
\non female investors. The syndicate also
\nfurther solidifies the partnership between
\nRosenblum and acclaimed trainer Linda
\nRice, who has entered the ownership group
\nas a member and selects and trains all of
\nthe horses.<\/p>\n
Rice is a fixture as a top trainer at the annual
\nSaratoga Race LeCourse meet.<\/p>\n
Currently, there are seven total investors
\nin the syndicate.
\n“It has always been a dream of mine to
\nshare my love of horse racing with friends
\nand other like-minded women. The debut
\nof Hot Like Hepburn is the culmination of a
\ntremendous amount of hard work and perseverance
\nand we couldn’t be more excited,”
\nsaid Rosenblum.<\/p>\n
“When I first launched the syndicate, I
\nimagined that most of the investors would
\nbe friends or acquaintances. I did not expect
\nan outpouring of interest from women I had
\nnever met, drawn in by the allure and excitement
\nof horse racing. We are well on our way
\nto providing women with the opportunity to
\ngain exposure and experience in an often
\nmale-dominated game,” she said.<\/p>\n
In addition to Hot Like Hepburn (Freud-
\nAll of Me, by Unbridled’s Song), Lady Sheila
\nStable Two also owns two fillies who have
\nyet to race, Hillaryinthehouse (Freud-Lake
\nChamplain, by War Chant) and Redheaded
\nRita (Tale of the Cat-Tartan Lady, by Malibu
\nMoon).<\/p>\n
Lady Sheila Stable Two expects to add
\none to three more horses, with an average
\npurchase price of $200,000, to complete the
\ninitial launch of the stable.<\/p>\n
At the recently concluded Saratoga Race
\nLeCourse meet, Lady Sheila Stable sent out
\nsix runners and compiled a record of 1-2-1.
\nThe earnings of $88,700 ranked in the top
\n100 of all owners who competed at the meet.<\/p>\n
Lady Sheila Stable has a record of 16-12-11
\nfrom 65 starts since its inception, with earnings
\ntotaling more than $1.1 million. In 2014,
\ndue to the emergence of La Verdad, the stable
\nhas earned more than $660,000, ranking in
\nthe top 120 of 25,000 owners nationwide. The
\nstable has a 7-6-5 record in 25 starts in 2014.<\/p>\n
The ownership group strongly encourages
\nthe participation of female investors at a time
\nthat the racing industry has experienced an
\nincreased interest among women. According
\nto NBC Sports, 52 percent of the 16.2 million
\nviewers of the 2013 Kentucky Derby were
\nwomen, the only major annual sporting event
\nthat draws stronger viewership numbers
\namong females than males.<\/p>\n
The investment opportunity with Lady
\nSheila Stable Two, LLC is open to accredited
\ninvestors only. The minimum investment to
\nbecome a member of Lady Sheila Stable Two
\nis $100,000. Each membership unit in the
\nstable costs $100,000 and it is anticipated
\nthat there will be no ongoing costs charged
