Meyers most recently served as senior marketing

Meyers earned a B.A. in communications
\nwith a minor in graphic design from SUNY
\nGeneseo and was a member of the Lambda Pi

Meyers’ new duties will include assisting

LaFay’s new duties include serving on the
\npresident’s senior leadership team; acting
\nas Title IX compliance officer and coordinator
\nof FOIL requests; acting as a liaison to
\nthe President’s Office to both internal and
\nexternal constituents; providing executive
\nlevel administrative support to the president;
\ndrafting, preparing, proofreading and editing
\ndocuments and correspondence; managing
\nthe president’s office calendar schedule; and
\nrepresenting the president at meetings and
\nevents when requested.<\/p>\n

Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, CPAs, PC
\nannounced that five accountants were selected
\nto assume new positions of managers,
\nsupervisors and senior accountant.<\/p>\n

They are Michael D. Cesternino<\/strong>, Ryan
\nMcEvoy<\/strong>, Kristi Mason<\/strong>, Mark J. Sagan<\/strong>,
\nand AJ Zarrelli<\/strong>, all of whom are CPAs.<\/p>\n

Both Cesternino and McEvoy were named
\naudit managers after previously holding positions
\nas audit supervisors for the firm. They
\nwill now manage all phases of audit, review,
\nand compilation engagements for the firm’s
\ndiverse clientele.<\/p>\n

A member of the American Institute of
\nCertified Public Accountants (AICPA),
\nCesternino received his bachelor of Science
\nin accounting from SUNY Oneonta and then
\nreceived his master of science in taxation
\nfrom the University at Albany.<\/p>\n

Cesternino has worked with many automotive
\ndealerships, which led to his appointment
\nto the internal auto committee. In
\naddition, he works with a wide range of other
\ncommercial entities, nonprofit organizations,
\nand government units including colleges.<\/p>\n

McEvoy, who joined TBC in 2009, received
\nhis bachelor of business administration
\nin accounting from Siena College. He is a
\nmember of the firm’s internal manufacturing
\ncommittee and his professional membership
\nincludes the AICPA. His experience includes
\na diverse client base consisting of companies
\nin the technology, distribution, construction,
\nrenewable energy, and healthcare industries.<\/p>\n

Receiving promotions to audit supervisor
\nthis year were Mason and Sagan. Both served
\nin the capacities of senior accountants prior
\nto the announcement.<\/p>\n

Mason, who has been an accountant at TBC
\nfor nine years, is a graduate of the College
\nof Saint Rose with a bachelor of science in
\nbusiness administration with a dual concentration
\nin accounting and taxation. She sits
\non the firm’s internal real estate committee
\nand the education committee. In addition to
\nbeing a member of the AICPA, Mason also
\nserves as an executive board member to the
\nTwin Town Little League.<\/p>\n

Joining the Firm in 2008, Sagan has a
\nbachelor of science in accounting from Siena
\nCollege. He is a member of the AICPA

\nautomotive dealerships and employee benefit

Zarrelli was promoted to senior accountant.

Two hires were announced at Albany-based
\naccounting and advisory firm Teal, Becker &
\nChiaramonte, CPAs, PC. The newest members
\nof the staff are in the Valuation, Forensic &
\nAdvisory Services division.<\/p>\n

The firm’s newest Analyst, Shawn Barhorst<\/strong> holds a Bachelor of Arts in political
\nscience from the Ohio State University and
\na Masters of Business Administration in accounting
\nfrom Lincoln Memorial University.<\/p>\n

He has spent the last four years working in
\nvarious accounting roles. Prior to that he
\nserved in the U.S. Navy.<\/p>\n

Katerina Hines<\/strong> joins the firm as an administrative
\nassistant and has an extensive
\nbackground as a paralegal. Hines will be an
\nadditional support to the valuation, forensic
\nand advisory team as they perform a variety
\nof services, including valuation of closely held
\nbusinesses, and professional practices,
\nlitigation support and forensic accounting.<\/p>\n

Hines received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary
\nStudies in legal studies from Virginia
\nCommonwealth University.<\/p>\n

DeCrescente Distributing Co. announced
\nthat employees Erik Budrakey<\/strong>, Joel Jaffe<\/strong>,
\nRich Hayes<\/strong>, and Kevin McClurken<\/strong> have
\nearned the title of certified cicerone.<\/p>\n

According to the company, the designation
\ncomes from a comprehensive testing curriculum
\nthat provides a measurable means
\nof designating the expertise of an individual
\nin regards to every facet of beer. The first
\nlevel of certification is certified beer server.
\nThe second level of certification is certified
\ncicerone and the third and final level of certification
\nis master cicerone.<\/p>\n

The testing process consists of a written
\nexam including several essays, a tasting portion
\nthat tests the candidate’s palate for discerning
\nstyles of beer and off-flavors that can
\nappear in beers, and a video demonstration
\ninvolving the proper process of beer service.
\nDeCrescente said currently, there are only
\n1,312 certified cicerones in the world.<\/p>\n

Dr. Todd Duthaler<\/strong> was named to the new
\nposition of chief medical informatics officer
\nat Saratoga Hospital. He has been on staff
\nas an emergency medicine physician at the
\nhospital since 1999.<\/p>\n

Duthaler has extensive experience with
\ncomputerized physician order entry. He was
\ninvolved in the original design of the CPOE
\nsystem for Saratoga Hospital’s Alfred Z. Solomon
\nEmergency Center. He served as medical
\ndirector of the Emergency Care Center at
\nNathan Littauer Hospital during its CPOE
\nimplementation and as a member of that hospital’s
\nPhysician Advisory Committee for EMR
\nand CPOE. He has shared his knowledge of
\nCPOE as a presenter and panelist at a Medical
\nUsers Software Exchange conference.<\/p>\n

A board-certified emergency medicine
\nphysician, Duthaler earned his doctor of
\nosteopathic medicine degree from the University
\nof New England College of Osteopathic
\nMedicine and completed a residency at Delaware
\nValley Medical Center. He currently is
\nenrolled in the American College of Physician
\nExecutives Health Information Technology
\nLeadership Certificate Program.<\/p>\n
