Meme’s Florist, previously at 116 Maple

St. in Corinth, relocated to 118 Main St. as

of Dec. 1. A longtime member of the Corinth and

Saratoga County business communities,

the shop moved in an effort to revitalize

Main Street in Corinth, said owner Bobbie

Tompkins.

Meme’s Florist “is back home,” Tompkins

said.

Tompkins is the longtime floral manager

and lead designer for Meme’s Florist and

has been working at the shop for more than

15 years. In June 2011, She purchased the

business from previous owners Scott and

Kay Moberg. She saw many benefits in

returning the business back to its original

location.

“The previous location was not as noticeable. I knew this building was for sale, and I wanted to get back to Main Street. I knew what it was like from before. We get a lot of foot traffic, especially because our parking lot is adjoined with Grand Union, so we get a lot of exposure,” Tompkins said.

She stated that the revitalization efforts of Corinth’s Main Street are going strong. She said many surrounding businesses are doing their part to beautify storefronts and she plans to continue to make outdoor improvements to Meme’s Florist throughout 2013.

“A few of the businesses have done a lot of their own outside work, including a liquor store that has been completely renovated. We’ve had two stores in addition to Meme’s Florist moving back here in the past three months. Main Street is the place to be in our town,” said Tompkins.

A popular destination for wedding flowers, the larger space at the new Meme’s location allows more room for planning. “We have a large clientele for weddings and do some wedding shows, but I want to continue to expand our wedding florals in 2013,” said Tompkins. “We also want to continue to serve the region.”

In addition to serving Corinth, the shop delivers to Saratoga and its surrounding areas.

With the move, Tompkins said she has expanded the shop’s product line. In addition to a full selection of plants and baby novelties, yankee Candles and Harry London Chocolates have been added to the shop’s offerings. Meme’s Florist is also one of two stores in New York to exclusively carry Indigo Prints.

Tompkins has received “an amazing outpour of well wishes from the community” in her first month back to Main Street. “Parking is so much easier, and the whole town has really welcomed us back,” she said. “We are back home for sure.”
