Hannaford Supermarkets opened its new Ballston Spa store in November at 3 Via Rossi Way.
The new 39,000 square-foot store features a full-service kitchen department, offering an expanded selection of hot foods and meal solutions, as well as hand-crafted sandwiches and salads made on-site daily. There is also an in-store café, which will also serve as a community gathering space.
The new store also offers Hannaford-To-Go, a service that allows customers to order groceries online and then pick them up at the store. Additionally, the store has a drive-thru pharmacy.
The store will employ approximately 125 full- and part-time associates.
“All of us at Hannaford are tremendously excited to bring our unique combination of high-quality, fresh food and produce, convenient services such as Hannaford-To-Go, outstanding customer service and everyday low prices to shoppers in the Ballston Spa area,” said store manager Wendy Watson. “We look forward to welcoming shoppers to the new store and encourage them to join us on Saturday as we celebrate this new addition to our community.”
Hannaford donated $10,000 to Ballston Spa Central School District in celebration its grand opening. The donation will support the school’s Scotties Backpack Program, which provides students in need with bags of child-friendly, nutritious food for times when other resources are not available, such as weekends; as well as its Community Literacy Campaign, which seeks to ensure that all students are able to read at or above grade level.
“We are genuinely excited to partner with Hannaford in further support of our students’ health and wellness and their ability to read well. We are grateful for Hannaford’s community mindedness,” said Ballston Spa Central School District Superintendent Ken Slentz.
Customers can also enter to win free groceries for a year from Hannaford exclusively at the Ballston Spa store. The grand prize winner will receive $5,200 worth of Hannaford gift cards. One first-prize winner will receive a $1,000 Hannaford gift card and one second-prize winner will receive a $500 Hannaford gift card. Winners will be selected by random drawing and announced on Dec. 16.
