The new EmUrgentCare and medical offices in Clifton Park opened on Oct. 1, just west of Shenendehowa High School at 989 Route 146 in Clifton Park.
Local officials joined leadership and physicians from Albany Med and The Bone & Joint Center, community partners and representatives from Columbia Development Companies for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The 14,400 square-foot medical office complex houses an Albany Med EmUrgentCare, a newly renovated and expanded satellite office for orthopaedic specialists with The Bone & Joint Center, and other medical tenants.
It is the 12th Albany Med EmUrgentCare facility and the first in Clifton Park.
“The opening of this facility is another step in Albany Med’s commitment to bring our high-quality, expert care closer to home,” said Dr. Dennis P. McKenna, Albany Med executive vice president, president of the faculty practice, and senior associate dean for clinical affairs. “Our walk-in clinic is staffed by Albany Med’s emergency medicine-trained providers and offers easy access to other specialists. We’re proud to serve the healthcare needs of the Clifton Park community.”
The $4.5 million project was designed by HCP Architects and built by BBL Medical Facilities in collaboration with Columbia Development Companies, who own and manage the space.
“As community partners of Albany Med since 1998, we’re delighted to join in opening the doors at this new facility and we look forward to bringing our orthopaedic services to patients in Clifton Park and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Shankar Das of The Bone & Joint Center.
Fellowship-trained doctors and surgeons of The Bone & Joint Center will provide treatment for orthopaedic injuries and conditions affecting the ankle, back, elbow, foot, hand, hip, knee, neck, shoulder, spine, and wrist in addition to specializing in general orthopaedics, orthopaedic oncology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, sports medicine, total joint replacement and revision, and trauma at the Clifton Park facility.
The site was the previous home of a medical office built in 1993 for several small practices including Capital Care Physicians, and a smaller Bone & Joint satellite office.
“Exceptional service, comprehensive planning and corporate social responsibility are among our driving principles,” said Joseph R. Nicolla, president and founder of Columbia Development Companies. “We’re proud to have brought all of them to bear in this project, which offers essential services to the Clifton Park community.”
Albany Med EmUrgentCare services are available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, including holidays, for patients of all ages seeking treatment for urgent and non-urgent illnesses and injuries such as sprains, strains and fractures, cuts and lacerations, colds and flu, ear and throat infections, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia and more.
