Dog Haus Biergarten, known for hotdogs and beer, has opened at 7 Southside Drive in Clifton Park.
According to the company, they serve a variety of nitrate-free, hormone-free and antibiotic-free meats. Along with their seven craft hotdogs, the restaurant also serves sausages, burgers and chicken sandwiches, with beer and shakes. Plant-based burgers and sausages from Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat are also on their menu.
The restaurant was founded in 2010 by Hagop Giragossian, Quasim Riaz and André Vener in Pasadena. Calif. The Clifton Park store is one of more than 30 locations across the country, with another 10-plus in development. The local branch is also one of the largest locations in the country, with 20 team members, and a 2,600-square-foot building, according to the company.
Along with the 24 different beers on tap, patrons of the Clifton Park location can also experience the brand’s new Dog Haus cocktails, designed by celebrity mixologist Phil Willis.
The restaurant has large high-definition televisions, foosball tables, and an 1,800 -quare-foot patio.
The store is managed by Benjamin Albright, who previously worked as the executive chef for Morton’s Steakhouse, as well as the kitchen director for Dinosaur Bar-B-Q in Troy.
“Clifton Park is obviously a staple of Saratoga County. With a large school district, a family-friendly atmosphere and an abundance of craft beer lovers, it’s a great place to start a business,” Albright said. “Also, when deciding where to open our first Dog Haus location, we realized there was nothing quite like the brand in the area.”
He said the restaurant has received positive feedback from the community and business has been going well.
“Dog Haus as a brand has always believed in giving back to the communities it serves,” he said.
The local store is preparing to host a PTA fundraiser in the near future, but Albright says he hopes to be involved in more community fundraisers and events in the future.
“We would love to partner with more local organizations, clubs, sports teams and schools to host dine-out fundraising events where we would donate 20 percent of the sales collected from supporters that drop in,” said Albright.
