Two attorneys with some 40 years of combined experience, much of it as solo practitioners, joined together to form DeAngelus Goralczyk PLLC, a law firm concentrating on real estate, business formation, and cybersecurity, and has expanded with an office in Saratoga Springs.
The firm opened the office at 18 Division St. in September. It also has offices in Schenectady and Clifton Park and several satellite locations for real estate closings.
Karen DeAngelus, one of the partners, was a solo practitioner for about 10 years and has 19 years of experience in all. The other partner, Jacqueline Goralczyk, owned a title company and a settlement company before attending law school.
In addition to her law degree, Goralczyk earned an LLM degree in cybersecurity and data privacy from Albany Law School. That enables her to work with businesses to develop secure procedures while taking advantage of new technology.
DeAngelus, a native of Vermont, took a somewhat circuitous route to Saratoga Springs. When she was offered a scholarship to study at Wellamette University Law School in Salem, Ore., she crossed the country to accept that offer. She later relocated to New York state to practice.
Since joining forces in April, they have added two more attorneys to the practice, along with a seven-member team of real estate closing coordinators and paralegals.
DeAngelus said that, over the years, she and Goralczyk sat across the table from one another at numerous real estate transactions. “I knew that Jacki had the same high ethical standards and dedication to her clients that I’ve built my practice on.”
The Division Street offices includes two conference rooms available for meetings with clients.
The attorneys envision a practice representing real estate buyers, seller and lenders. They will combine that with advising on business formation and data privacy and cybersecurity.
