Plug Power Inc., a provider of hydrogen engines and fueling solutions enabling e-mobility,has acquired EnergyOr’s technology, assets, and personnel.
EnergyOr is based in Montreal and involved in advanced lightweight and compact PEM hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) systems for robotics, small scale material handling and aerospace applications.
Plug Power is based in Latham and has a Clifton Park office.
Pickett Family Foundation Gives $1M To Albany Med’s Children’s Emergency Center
A $1 million gift from a Saratoga Springs family and its family foundation to support The Massry Family Children’s Emergency Center at Albany Med, the region’s only pediatric emergency department, was announced by Albany Med President and CEO James J. Barba.
The donation from Dan and Jennifer Pickett and the Pickett Family Foundation underscores a guiding principle that has been in place since 1992, when the Pickett family launched nfrastructure, a small technology company, in the basement of a liquor store hospital officials said. Today, the company, Zones nfrastructure, is the services company of Zones, one of the largest private technology companies in the world.
Saratoga-Based American Natural Gas Adds 20 Fueling Stations In 8 States To Its Portfolio
American Natural Gas LLC in Saratoga Springs has added 20 natural gas fueling stations in eight states to its portfolio with the acquisition of ampCNG LLC of Chicago.
American Natural Gas (ANG) is a diversified holding company of HC2 Holdings Inc. AmpCNG, is a natural gas fuel provider. The acquisition cost $41 million. ANG is funding the acquisition through a combination of cash and the issuance of debt and preferred shares at the portfolio company level, officials said.
Adirondack Trust Co.’s Above & Beyond Challenge Supports Help For Drug Addicts
Registration is open for the Above & Beyond Challenge, presented by the Adirondack Trust Co., in which area hikers will help raise awareness and generate funds to support the Saratoga Community Health Center’s Addiction Medicine Program.

Wendy Waldron has taken her years of experience and success and created her own consulting firm that reaches clients from Albany to the Adirondack Mountains.
WaldronWorks officially launched in March of this year with a soft opening a few months prior. The firm took on their first client in December, providing operations leadership.
Originally from Queensbury, Waldron said family roots in the area that go back for generations is one reason she wanted to open up her business in the area that she loves, the Adirondacks.
“I love strengthening our community and local economy by supporting our entrepreneurs,” said Waldron.
She has been leading teams in transition for 25 years, including educators, volunteer groups and healthcare providers. She enjoys working with people and helping to guide them to through times of change and growth.
Clifton Park Senior Community Center Provides Many Free Programs For Members

The Clifton Park Community Center provides a variety of services for those 50 and up. The town of Clifton Park took over the center in 2016 and has been running it ever since.
“Our programs are better than ever and our membership has increased tremendously, almost double in size,” said Susan Leonard, director of the center for the last two years. “We are all very proud of our accomplishments”

AARP Lauds Efforts Of Congress To Push Forward A Law Against Age Discrimination
The House Education and Labor Committee’s approval of the Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act (POWADA) in June was lauded by AARP as a key step toward enactment.
“The vote puts us one step closer to restoring fairness for older workers who experience age discrimination,” said Nancy LeaMond, AARP executive vice president and chief advocacy and engagement officer. “The legislation makes Congress’ intent clear that discrimination in the workplace—against older workers or others—is never acceptable.”
Wesley Community Renovating Apartments; Phased Work Schedule Is Three Years-Plus

The Wesley Community in Saratoga is undergoing renovations.
Wesley CEO Brian Nealon said the $20 million project will include apartment renovations, a memory care assisted living facility and a training center.
Nealon said the entire project will take about three and a half years to complete, pending final approval from the city.
Renovations on the 37-acre property have already begun on the Springs building, the oldest part of the property, according to Nealon.
He said the fifth floor of the residential building has been completed and they will continue to work their way down to lower floors, working on about a quarter of the floor at a time.
