The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Saratoga Summer Trolley is back for the season.
The service runs through Labor Day, Sept. 2, and operates free of charge, seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. through Monday.
The trolley schedule offers streamlined service to hotels and key attractions along Broadway in Downtown Saratoga, including the historic Saratoga Race Course along with Saratoga Casino and Hotel.

Saratoga Hospital will hold its 37th annual gala, presented by Julie & Co. Realty LLC and Bonacio Construction Inc., on Wednesday, July 31, at the Polo Meadow on the grounds of Saratoga Casino Hotel.
Proceeds benefit Saratoga Hospital’s Saratoga Community Health Center (CHC), which provides access to high quality, patient-centered, affordable healthcare.

Each year, nearly 1,000 gala sponsors, auction winners and guests help raise about $300,000 to support Saratoga Community Health Center. The CHC employs a Community Medicine approach to treat the whole patient, in all facets of his/her life, with the aim of cultivating wellness across our community. Staff and practitioners operate as an integrated healthcare system to provide coordinated care across all offered service lines: primary, dental, behavioral health, and—since 2017—addiction medicine.

The 12th annual Cantina Kids Fun Run, presented by New Country Motor Car Group, had a record 1,008 participants and raised $72,077 on June 2 in Congress Park, bringing the event’s lifetime proceeds to over $560,000 in support of children’s healthcare at Saratoga Hospital.
Participation surpassed the previous record of 980 set last year.
Funds raised from the Fun Run have supported capital needs, as well as ongoing, critical training and specialized equipment for hospital staff involved in pediatric care. A sampling of the what proceeds have made possible include enhanced training on pediatric blood draws, on-site trauma course training, neonatal resuscitation training, acquiring a pediatric video laryngoscope, on-site education in pediatric and adolescent psychiatry, and simulation training for nurses using a SimJunior (an interactive, programmable pediatric mannequin).

Plug Power Inc., a provider of hydrogen engines and fueling solutions enabling e-mobility, which has an office in Clifton Park, was named to the Top Green Providers list for 2019 by Food Logistics, a publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global food supply chain.
Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers recognizes companies whose products, services, or exemplary leadership are enhancing sustainability within the food and beverage industry.
This marks the third year Plug Power has been named on the Top Green Providers list. Through its GenDrive fuel cell product line and GenFuel hydrogen fueling stations, Plug Power has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to offering material handing fleet customers sustainable zero emission solutions to power their material handling equipment. Food and beverage companies like Walmart, Kroger, Supervalu, and Carrefour in Europe have made the decision to utilize hydrogen fuel cells to power their forklift truck fleets, dramatically improving their carbon footprint.

Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine was selected as New Visions Health Careers Exploration’s 2019 Mentor of the Year at a presentation that took place June 6.
The Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team provides care for patients who have acute or chronic lung disorders, including cancer, emphysema, and other lung disease and conditions. The program is also home to the Saratoga Hospital Center for Sleep Disorders, with its state-of-the-art sleep lab, where patients can be evaluated and treated for conditions including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and a full spectrum of sleep disorders.
The New Visions Health Careers Exploration is a program within the Washington Saratoga Warren Hamilton Essex Board of Cooperative Educational Services (WSWHE BOCES) founded in 1998. It provides medical career-minded high school students the opportunity to rotate through a variety of medical practices.
The mentorship award was presented by Jared Everleth, a senior at Schuylerville High School, on behalf of the New Visions Class of 2019. The class collaborated on the reasons they chose the Pulmonary and Sleep team for the award.

The Saratoga Summer Concert Series has returned to Congress Park for the 2019 season. The free series is program of the Saratoga Heritage Area Visitor Center in cooperation with the Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau and the city of Saratoga Springs.
Shows begin at 7 p.m. at the War Memorial in Congress Park and each concert will be approximately 90 minutes. The Saratoga Heritage Area Visitor Center, at 297 Broadway, will be the concert rain location.
The schedule includes: July 14, Betsy and the ByeGons; July 21, The Road Kings Band; July 28, Skippy & the Pistons; Aug. 6, Curley Lamb Nu-Soul-Jaz Quartet; Aug. 13, Rich Ortiz; and Aug. 20, Garland Nelson and Soul Session; and Aug. 27, Fenimore Blues.
