Two local small business were recognized during National Small Business Week in May at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 21st Annual Small Business Excellence Awards luncheon in Albany.
Small businesses are selected for the Excellence Awards based on their company’s longevity, innovation, sales growth, increased employment, ability to overcome adversity or community contributions.
Saratoga National Bank and Trust Co. presented a 2019 Small Business Excellence Award to The Smile Lodge, owned by Dr. James McDonnell and Dr. Eric McMahon at 713 Pierce Road in Clifton Park.
“It is an honor for Saratoga National Bank and Trust Co. to assist with the expansion of The Smile Lodge,” said Billie Taft, Saratoga National vice president. “Undoubtedly, the practice’s success has not only been built on hard work but on social responsibility as well.”
TD Bank presented a 2019 Small Business Excellence Award to Greenfield Manufacturing Inc., owned by Duane Palmateer at 25 Freedom Way in Saratoga Springs.
“The 21st Annual Small Business Excellence Awards luncheon gives us the opportunity to celebrate our business community leaders for their small business successes,” said Bernard J. Paprocki, SBA Syracuse district director. “Small business owners develop deep community connections, provide the critical backbone of our economy, employ local residents, and contribute to the vibrancy and innovation of our nation.”
The annual event is dedicated to recognizing the nation’s top small businesses, entrepreneurs and small business advocates.
