Ted’s Fish Fry as opened a new location on Route 9 in Clifton Park.
It is the sixth location for the local chain
Bill Deeb is the general manager of all six locations. The restaurant was started by Deeb’s grandfather and the restaurant’s namesake, Ted Deeb.
The new space is the second time in Clifton Park for the business. The first was in the mid-1970s, where original owner Ted opened a fish fry in the prior Harbor House location. The eatery eventually closed in favor of a site in Latham.
Deeb’s father, S.K. Deeb, is now the owner of the local restaurant chain. He has been running the restaurants since the opening of the Latham site.
Bill Deeb is the general manager and runs the business for all locations.
Clifton Park “is an area we’ve been looking at for a long time, but we needed to find a property that worked for us,” he said. “The location of the property we found is perfect, and a former fish house in the past.”
The restaurant is located where Matt’s Cape House used to be at 1663 Route 9 in Halfmoon.
“We get our fish from the Boston Fish Market daily. We do all homemade sauces for our food. Besides our fish fries, we’re known for our homemade onion rings, our soups and, believe it or not, our burgers and hot dogs,” Deeb said.
“My grandfather’s success was in keeping a fresh, consistent product, in being fair to people and in building loyal relationships with his employees.”
The restaurants open seven days a week at 11 a.m. Closing time is 8:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday, 9:45 p.m. on Friday and 7:45 p.m. on Sunday.
