NBT Bank has hired James Brown as an investment officer. He is based at NBT Bank’s Saratoga Springs office.
Brown has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining NBT, he was a relationship manager for Bank of America’s private wealth management firm, U.S. Trust.
Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Michael’s College. He is a graduate of the New York Bankers Association’s Fiduciary Investment School and completed the advanced consultative sales training program at the Cannon Financial Institute.

Sterling Homes Inc. has hired Lisa M. Licata as director of sales and marketing.
Licata, of Saratoga Springs, has over 25 years of sales, customer service and management experience. She is a state-licensed associate broker and was named Top Sales Agent in 2017 at her previous brokerage.
She has worked in local real estate since 2003, and overseen projects within a 60-mile radius from Albany to Queensbury. Licata has represented some of the area’s top builders and regularly completes continuous training and education so as to offer clients the most current and accurate information on the real estate industry.

The Patient Experience Project (PEP) announced the addition of Carey Stephenson as an account director.
In her new role, Stephenson will work closely with multiple teams and clients, providing brand strategy and client relationship management support to ensure client partners’ needs and goals are appropriately represented and the best quality of work is produced.
Stephenson comes to PEP with nearly 15 years of account service experience. She most recently was director of commercial insights at Dohmen Life Science Services in Chicago, where she worked with rare disease patients and their communities to gain insights and identify their unmet needs to inform program recommendations spanning patient support services, clinical trial design and rercruitment, advocacy relationship-building, and successful commercialization.
Prior to that she worked at Siren Interactive and Intouch Solutions, also in Chicago, where she applied her digital strategy and integrated marketing experience to serve the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Stephenson is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she earned a bachelor degree in journalism and advertising with a concentration in marketing and English.

Potter comes to ADKtechs with 20 years of experience in the education and banking industries on an enterprise level. His experience with compliance, personally identifiable information (PII), enterprise systems and networking, and cyber security will help ADKtechs meet the growing demand for our cyber security services.
Potter will be responsible for delivering network, systems, and cyber security solutions to our customers around the country.

The Patient Experience Project (PEP)announced the addition of Zafar Ahmed as senior digital strategist.
He will have accountability for delivering data-rich and measurable insights that enhance digital solutions, driving digital health strategy development aligned with agency goals, leading cross-functional strategic projects, and developing implementation plans.
Ahmed is a marketing professional who has led digital marketing strategy and campaign execution for early-stage start-ups and Fortune 500 enterprises. He has driven mobility and emerging product sales for businesses, enterprises, and consumers by developing and managing online customer experiences and targeted marketing campaigns that include social and digital media, paid search, content strategy and lead nurturing.
Prior to joining PEP, Ahmed was director of marketing for Rockpointe, where he successfully created digital marketing infrastructure for the company. At qordata, Ahmed was head of digital marketing, charged with building account-based marketing infrastructure and driving growth through customer acquisition channels.
He is a certified Marketo expert, is Google Analytics certified, and holds inbound certification from HubSpot. He is also mutilingual, speaking English, Urdu, Hindi, Tagalog, and Persian.

Dr. Timothy A. Brooks, chair of emergency medicine at Saratoga Hospital, recently was recognized for his 30 years of certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He has overseen emergency medical care at Saratoga Hospital—and has supported emergency-related efforts throughout Saratoga County—for nearly all that time.
Brooks has served on the Saratoga County Emergency Preparedness Committee since its inception. He is a member of the Saratoga County Public Health Professional Advisory Committee, medical director of the Automated External Defibrillators (AED) program for the Saratoga Springs City School District, and medical director of the Saratoga Springs Fire Department.
In addition, Brooks has served as health officer for the City of Saratoga Springs, medical director of the Harriet M. West Child Advocacy Center Forensic Exam Program, and a consultant to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on educating physicians on bioterrorism. He is a member of numerous Saratoga Hospital committees and has served two terms as president of the hospital medical staff.
Brooks earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School (now Michigan Medicine). He completed his internship and integrated residency in emergency medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine in Ohio.
He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Physician Executives and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
