FACES on Beekman Street has undergone an 800-foot expansion that is a reflection of the success the spa has experienced.
Owner Crystal Cobert Giddens has a passion for what she does that can be felt throughout the new fresh space—something she had a vision of since first opening her doors in 2017.
“I always knew that I wanted to expand and I asked the owner of the building to give me the right of first refusal when shop next door became available. It was available a year earlier than I expected. I wasn’t financially or emotionally ready to expand, but I felt that the universe would have my back so I decided to take the leap of faith and say ‘yes,’” said Cobert Giddens.
The 30 Beekman St. business moved to its current location on the other side of the same building, giving Cobert Giddens the opportunity to double its initial size. The additional space has allowed her to showcase her skin and beauty products, along with artisan goods such as handmade jewelry. The remaining space is used to provide services such as facials, peels, waxing and other oncology esthetics.
“Having a larger space has allowed me to offer a more boutique experience, add services like derma-planing, body wraps, tattoo reduction, reflexology and lashes. We are finally able to offer full waxing services too” she said.”That’s been huge for clients on the west side of Saratoga. Expanding has allowed us to offer more holistic workshops like how to make body scrubs, sage bundles and DIY tick repellent.”
Cobert Giddens said she was recently able to add two employees to her business after MedSpa Saratoga closed, leaving their clients in need of a place to call home. Their clients, were referred to FACES on Beekman Street and so she was able to bring estheticians, Hannah and Meredith on board.
“Hannah is our lash and waxing diva and Meredith loves to exfoliate, as in diamond microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and she’s certified in tattoo reduction,” said Cobert Giddens.
Looking ahead, Cobert Giddens said, “I’ve been trying to nudge people over to organic, farm-to-table food and organic skin care since I was in my 20s. It’s finally happening and I’m so happy. Working with clean ingredients has been one of my lifelong passions.
“We have added a new children’s line that’s Organic COSMOS certified. Recipes from around the world using turmeric, aloe, natural zinc for sun protection, called VIVAIODAYS and I’ve been working on a small-batch, organic body care line called Bohemia Rose that should be ready to launch this summer. I’m really excited to bring my own body care line to life. I hope to offer it in our studio, online and possibly at the farmer’s market,” said Cobert Giddens.
She also sells jewelry made from recycled materials.
“I am literally addicted to small, handmade, recycled or upcycled jewelry. I’ve been able to create a rotating trunk show of recycled sterling silver, copper and gold jewelry since I moved next door,” she said.
