OrthoNY opened its newest location last month.
OrthoNY Surgical Suites, located at 16 Maxwell Drive in Clifton Park, offers outpatient, orthopaedic surgery and pain management from the same Saratoga and Schenectady physicians whom patients see in OrthoNY offices for routine and emergent care.
Ambulatory surgery centers like OrthoNY Surgical Suites specialize in meeting the needs of orthopaedic patients whose treatment does not require hospital admission, officials said. Staff welcome patients on the day of their procedure, and practice physicians perform surgeries in one of four fully equipped operating rooms.
The center has six preoperative beds, with twelve additional recovery beds to supervise patients and prepare them, and their caregivers, for continuing recovery at home.
Among the procedures currently being performed are arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, ankle, and wrist; surgery of the hand and forearm, including carpal tunnel surgery; and foot surgery. Ultimately, OrthoNY Surgical Suites will also provide same-day, total joint replacement.
“Ambulatory surgery is convenient and cost-effective,” said Dr. George Silver, president of OrthoNY. “And the care our patients receive is still the optimal quality they would experience if the same surgeries were performed in a hospital. My colleagues and I were excited to build this new, state-of-the-art facility.”
“OrthoNY Surgical Suites is an ideal complement to the practice’s existing Albany ambulatory surgery center in Executive Woods,” said medical director Dr. Eric Aronowitz. “We’re now able to offer more regionally accessible outpatient surgery options for all of our patients, wherever they live. It’s just one more way we can continue saving lifestyles.”
