The GlobalFoundries-Town of Malta Foundation has awarded 46 grants totaling $165,500 for local organizations and community projects.
Since its inception, the Foundation formed by GlobalFoundries and Malta has donated more than $1 million to the Malta community.
Following are the organizations that received grants and their respective amounts.
• Saratoga Bridges, $12,250 to complete phase III improvements of the Community Home.
• CAPTAIN Community Human Services, $5,000 to provide personal care products and clothing.
• Shelters of Saratoga, $1,000 for street outreach and supplies to Malta residents in need
• Rebuilding Together Saratoga County, $10,000 for home repair for low-income Malta residents
• Malta Stillwater EMS, $10,500 for the purchase of a Carefusion revel transport ventilator.
• Round Lake Hose Co, $4,500 to provide kitchen and general purpose fire extinguishers.
• Round Lake Auditorium, $5,000 to improve the entrance to the auditorium.
• Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park, $2,040 to bring the Hands-On Nature program to Camp Malta.
• Best Buddies International, $2,000 for Best Buddies Ballston Spa School District project.
• Malta Seniors, $5,000 for cultural outings and luncheon events.
• Ballston Spa Jr. Baseball League, $5,000 towards tie-in of the ballfields to the town sewage line.
• Hands and Paws, $2,500 for Hands and Paws welcome bags and publishing of the Foster Care Book.
• St. Peter Lutheran Church, $3,000 to provide assistance to the Malta food pantry.
• Malta Sunrise Rotary Club, $2,500 for gazebo repairs and veterans memorial benches.
• Beyond My Battle, $1,500 to enable a workshop for family members and caregivers of individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
• Round Lake Library Malta Branch, $800 for new tablets for the children’s area.
• Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region – Ballston Spa Partnership for Innovation in Education Fund, $4,000 for the Ballston Spa First Robotics team supporting regional competitions.
• Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region – Ballston Spa Partnership for Innovation in Education Fund, $3,500 for the Robot Rumble off-season First Robotics event
• Rugrunners Robotic, $8,000 for the First Team 20, Shenendehowa First Robotics Team
• Roundabout Runners Club, $5,000 for the Cross Country 2019 project in and around 100 acre woods.
• Albany Can Code, $5,000 for the Yes! You Can Code! project.
• Band Boosters of Shenendehowa, $5,000 to support the color guard (replacement of their lift).
• Shenendehowa PTA Council, $3,500 for the Odyssey of the Mind program.
• Junior Achievement of Northeastern NY, $2,500 for support materials for the Junior Achievement programs in the Ballston Spa School District.
• Outdoor Club – Ballston Spa High School, $2,500 for essential outdoor equipment supporting club activities.
• Ballston Spa High School English department, $1,247.50 for a theater field trip for seniors enrolled in the short story course.
• Ballston Spa High School English department, $750 for books for the Young Adult Historical Fiction Research Choice Reading Project.
• Ballston Spa High School Student Book Club, $2,056 for book purchase and other student meeting provisions.
• Ballston Spa High School-Parent Teacher Student Association, $4,000 for after prom activities and the Arts in Education program.
• Malta Avenue Elementary School PTA, $2,790 for the World Awareness Children’s Museum.
• Chango Elementary School, $4,740 to bring to the school the 50th anniversary of the Very Hungry Caterpillar program from the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
• Chango Elementary School, $3,000 for the Chango Robotics Coding Initiative.
• Gordon Creek Elementary PTA, $2,000 to bring a visiting author to the Gordon Creek Elementary School.
• Town of Malta Veterans Committee, $3,000 for the 11th annual Malta Military, Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Parade and a veterans recognition brunch.
• Town of Malta Community Emergency Response Team (CERT): $2,000 for 100 portable emergency weather radios for the Citizen Preparedness Corps training.
• Town of Malta Clerk’s Office, $3,475 for 5,000 maps of Malta to be distributed to the public.
• Town of Malta, $750 to support Dance Night event.
• Town of Malta Highway Safety Advisory Committee, $2,500 LED bike lights for the bicycle safety program.
• Town of Malta Open Space, Agriculture, and Trails Committee, $750 for the Get Out! photo contest
• Town of Malta Parks & Recreation, $3,600 for the Celebrating the 4 Seasons family fun events.
• Town of Malta Parks & Recreation, $3,000 for the Malta Community Center summer concert series.
• Town of Malta Parks & Recreation, $6,000 to build a disc golf course at Shenentaha Park.
• Spotlighter’s Theater Troup, $1,250 to support the production of Mary Poppins.
• Launching Pad Productions, Ballston Spa Middle School’s Drama Club, $2,500 for Honk! the Musical.
• Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, $2,500 to support the Backpack Program in the Ballston Spa Central School District.
• American Red Cross of Northeastern New York, $2,000 for Sound the Alarm. Save a Life home fire preparedness program in the Town of Malta.
