A brand of grab-and-go health food is coming to the Spa City.
Opening Oct. 8, Urban Roots Juice + Smoothie + Avocado Bar at 46 Marion Ave. in Saratoga Springs, will offer cold-pressed juices, smoothies, avocado eats, açai bowls and more, sourced straight from local farms, whenever possible, according to owner Brandon Acres.
Acres and investor Allen Caruso are putting a focus on eating and drinking high-quality foods, leaving people with more energy, more motivation, more happiness, more passion and more joy, said Acres.
The company slogan is “Reroot your life.”
The ownership is focused on “bringing the community the next level of nutritional consciousness through mouthwatering avocado toasts, detox juice cleanses, smoothies, and fresh, grab-and-go provisions, emphasizing local farms to urban communities,” said a company news release.
“Our main focus is offering the local community a relaxed and inviting environment where they can come in and pick up freshly-made juices, smoothies and avocado eats, knowing what they order is produced from pure, natural ingredients, sourced from our local farming community,” said Acres. “We want everyone, from all walks of life, to know urban roots is for them.”
Added Caruso, “As an entrepreneur, I have wanted to invest in a business like urban roots for quite some time. Having called Saratoga Springs home most of my life, I couldn’t imagine a better community to open their arms and welcome this much-needed, healthy eatery. So, when the opportunity arose in this ideal location, I knew it was the perfect investment.”
Acres and Caruso said they will work behind the scenes to create innovative and wholesome menu items. The new eatery menu will offer organic products when available, but focus will primarily be on working with local farmers that are using sustainable practices.
Both food entrepreneurs said they feel strongly about supporting the local community and getting produce fresh off the farm, not the truck that traveled two weeks to deliver it.
On the avocado side, the business will offer signature toast creations, including a Mediterranean inspired olive tapenade and pistachio dukkah; poached egg, red pepper with lemon citronette drizzle; burrata with local herbs; kimchi, sesame seed and cilantro; and more.
Menu options will include locally-sourced bee pollen; Troy-brewed kombucha and cold-brewed Kru coffee for smoothies. There will also be gluten-free, raw and vegan options.
It will be open seven days a week. The Saratoga Springs flagship location is the first of several planned sites, the owners said.
