Since 1999, The Joint Chiropractic has been offering patients affordable, convenient chiropractic care all over the country. Three years ago, Stephen, David and Kristen Leonard brought the franchise to the Capital District.
It was first founded by a doctor of chiropractic medicine who wanted to provide less expensive services. His venture was successful and the brand has grown to a system of over 400 clinics all over the U.S.
The Clifton Park clinic is located at 5 Southside Drive, and has been open since May of 2014.
The facility is 1,200 square feet and has three adjustment tables in an open-bay setting, along with a seating area.
“At our clinic, we focus on manual adjustments to eliminate areas of interference that are causing pain and impacting nerve communication throughout the patient’s body” said Kristen Leonard.
“When subluxations (those areas of interference) are removed, the patient’s body is better able to heal itself and get the patient back to their normal activities,” she said.
“We understand that pain doesn’t always occur during standard office hours, so we stay open later in the day and on weekends to be there to help when our patients need us,” Leonard said of the clinic’s walk-in system.
The Joint Chiropractic attributes much of its success to the value they provide their patients.
“I think what surprises patients the most, outside of the fact that our costs are affordable and we are so convenient, is the impact that they experience in their lives with regular use of our services,” said Leonard. “Many of our patients had never been to a chiropractor before and are now advocates for our services due to the improvement they have seen in their ability to move and function when they come in for regular care. That’s very refreshing and rewarding for us, and really the reason that we are in business.”
Leonard said the clinic’s services can help treat pain from ailments, but also help prevent some patients from having to experience pain.
Although she and her husband, Dave, had never owned their own business before, they identified with The Joint Chiropractic’s overall message and felt opening a franchise would be an opportunity to help the community.
The facility has assisted local charitable efforts by schools, churches, and organizations, and has made donations to Captain Community Human Services, as well as Books for Troops.
Leonard said business has been going well and that if it continues to see success, they would consider opening additional clinics in the area.
The clinic is open on weekends and evenings. The clinic offers a wide range of plans and packages to suit different patients’ needs.
It is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed Sundays.
