A new staffing company has been formed that the owner says helps individuals and companies “be a guest at their own party” or event.
87 North Staffing provides full-service labor so that when guests leave, there is no work to do, said Jason Ambesi, who formed the LLC on April 28.
Ambesi graduated college 20 years ago with a degree in culinary arts. Now he and his fiancée are partners in the business.
The concept for the company is to go to a client’s home or business, arrange the party or event, and provide all the labor necessary to make it a success. He said the company can also supplement the workforce for events with caterers.
The seed of the idea for his firm came hen he was part-time staff and on-call in party planning before locating to the Saratoga area. He said he did research and decided to “grab attention in the travel and tourism field.”
Staff does everything from getting the ice and serving the guests, to doing the dishes and removing the trash.
Ambesi said he has 30 part-timers on the books now, but staffing can be difficult.
At any time, Ambesi said he may experience a demand for events but not staff. Or staff but fewer events. That is the challenge with the business.
He said the ideal staffer may be a stay-at-home mom or anyone who wants to commit 20 hours or more to bring some extra money into the household.
Ambesi looks for balance so that his business can grow while employees feel rewarded.
“I am trying to build staff and loyalty while working the equation in employees’ favor and ours,” he said.
Ambesi said his business model can be worked anywhere, but he does not plan at this time to expand the concept outside the immediate community.
“I want to physically touch every home to make sure the party is professional and the quality is there, A-Z, to uphold our brand,” he said.
His next goals for the company include adding personal chefs to the roster, individuals with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience.
