Fall class registration at the Academy for Lifelong Learning (A.L.L.) begins July 16.
Classes start the week of Sept. 10 with the term ending Nov. 8. Fall term class registration and membership application brochures can be found in area libraries, the Academy office at 113 West Ave, Saratoga Springs, or at www.esc.edu/all. Registration forms are being accepted for open classes through the beginning of the term. Some classes will sell out.

Thirty-one different non-credit classes are offered Monday through Friday during the day and cover a wide range of genre including: history, art, literature, current world issues, health, religion, writing, science, and economics. Volunteer-led classes typically meet for two hours once a week for eight weeks.
Most classes are held in SUNY Empire State College classrooms at 113 West Ave. in Saratoga Springs with several “on-site” offerings at a variety of local outdoor venues.
Annual membership is $60 and goes through June 30, 2019. Class fee for an eight-week class is $50, $25 for a four-week class. The fall term is sponsored by Prestwick Chase at Saratoga.
New classes this term include: Great Decisions 2018, Issues in the Field of Medical Ethics, Let’s Read Banned Books, Willa Cather Divided, Ageless Wisdom, The Origins of Life, Essential Health Solutions and Make & Take Oils, Cultivating Mindfulness Aging, Maupassant, Country Music, History of the Second World War, and Local Tours Behind the Scenes.
All new topics are being presented in the Monday Speaker Series, History in Our Capital Region Towns Series, and the Science, Engineering, and Technology Speaker Series.
All new authors are presenting in the Local Authors Series. History, Art & Science day trips, and Farm Tours will be visiting all new locations. The Hollywood films’ new theme this year is detectives in the 1930s and 1940s.
Back by popular demand are: Intro to iPhone Photography, Making Sense of Investing, Enjoying Poetry, Painting Lab, Writers Circle, Hikes at Moreau Lake State Park, Italian, Revealing the Mysteries of the Dismal Science: Economics for the Curious Observer, A Cultural and Historical Journey Through India, China and Japan, Journal Writing, Theater Games and Improvisation.
Founded in 1992, the Academy is a nonprofit, membership organization of 450 mature learners who share a love of learning. An independent entity, A.L.L. is sponsored by SUNY Empire State College and affiliated with the Road Scholar Institute Network.
