Adirondack Orthodontics, which has an office in Clifton Park, has acquired Guilderland Orthodontics, which has provided care and treatment to patients for more than 30 years.
Dr. Charles Buchanan, who founded Guilderland Orthodontics in 1986, will relocate to Adirondack Orthodontics’ present office at 1465 Western Ave. in Albany,.
Dr. Sergey Berenshteyn founded Adirondack Orthodontics in 2012. The business also has a location in Latham.
With this acquisition, Adirondack Orthodontics now serves more than 1,700 patients and employs 15 people, said Berenshteyn.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Buchanan, his patients and their families to Adirondack Orthodontics,” said Dr. Berenshteyn. “Our desire to grow demonstrates our commitment to building our practice, and to continually improving care by providing access to additional doctors, services, technologies, hours and locations. It also reinforces our belief in the importance of being a locally owned, locally operated practice that is fully invested in our patients, their families, and our community.”
Adirondack Orthodontics is open and staffed daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., offers evening hours, and one Saturday each month. Its facilities include the latest high-tech equipment, such as the iTero Intraoral Scanner, which replaces ceramic molds with digital impressions.
Berenshteyn is a board-certified specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, and a member of both the American Dental Association and the American Board of Orthodontics. He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He completed an additional year of General Practice Residency, which was followed by two additional years of Post-Graduate Orthodontic training at the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan.
