The Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce will hold its Women in Business (WIB) annual fall luncheon on Oct. 20 at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs.
This year’s speaker will be Ruth Tietz, owner of Inspired Yoga for Wellness. The theme of the luncheon is “Strike Your Perfect Balance.”
Liz Roggenbuck, vice president of community and professional development with Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, said she heard Tietz speak at a recent event and found her story to be “inspiring and uplifting.”
Roggenbuck said the annual luncheon is the highest profile event of the year for the Women in Business group. “We look forward to bringing together professional women from all over the Capital Region for quality connecting and an inspirational presentation,” she said.
The luncheon is made possible in part through the support of its annual sponsor St. Peter’s Health Partners. Other sponsors include Hannoush Jewelers, JC Sweet & Co, Language Learning Institute, Peregrine Senior Living at Clifton Park, the Times Union, Wellspring and the Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs,
The luncheon is also being held for the first time on a Friday.
“It can be difficult and sometimes stressful for people to make time in the middle of their busy week to attend a luncheon. The goal is to make it less stressful and more enjoyable. After all, what better place to be in the fall than in downtown Saratoga Springs?” said Roggenbuck.
“I’m a strong supporter of the WIB committee as it provides a regular opportunity to focus on issues important to our Chamber business women and also provides a positive environment to encourage women professionals to achieve their professional and personal goals,” said Jenifer Marten, Chamber board of directors chairwoman. “The committee also makes a positive difference in the community with their signature charitable initiative, Baskets of Hope, benefitting chamber member Wellspring to aid in their mission to end domestic violence in Saratoga County. The WIB annual luncheon is an event that ties this all together.”
The event will begin with a pre-reception at 11:15 a.m., where guests can network. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by Tietz’s presentation.
Tickets are available for both members and non-members. The cost is $55 for members and $65 for non-members and anyone can register for the event on the chamber website, www.SouthernSaratoga.org.
Prior to opening her boutique yoga studio in Clifton Park, Tietz worked in entertainment media and marketing, holding positions at CBS-6, WNYT and Dame Media. She was a co-creator of the Leading Age New York Ignite Leadership Academy, and she has a degree in Communications Sciences from The Sage Colleges.
