Halliday Financial, an independent wealth management firm based on Long Island, is expanding into Clifton Park. It will become the company’s fourth office. Other offices are in Glen Head, L.I.; Albany, and Sarasota, Fla.
The company recently closed on the deal and officials hope to be moved in to the new location at 4 Executive Drive by December.
The company has seen much success in recent years. This year alone, it hired eight new financial advisors.
Scott Solomon, president and chief operations officer at Halliday Financial, said the Albany office at 14 Corporate Woods Boulevard has outgrown itself.
“We want to bring our operations team and our wealth management team to the new location,” he said. “We really enjoy this area. It’s a great area, a great community and we got a great little firm here.”
The Executive Drive space has 9,600 square feet. It comes with 50 parking spaces to accommodate staff and clients. Closing price was approximately $800,000, said Solomon.
He said there will be modest renovations done to the building. It is currently constructed for two tenants. Renovations will be completed so Halliday Financial can occupy the entire building.
The building at 14 Corporate Woods Boulevard in Albany is 12,000 square feet. Solomon said the lease will expire in April. Halliday Financial plans to keep the Albany location open and keep much of their team there.
Halliday Financial hopes that the move to Clifton Park will allow them to be a more integrated part of the Saratoga County community and attract more clients.
“We have many people commuting here. It’s about convenience to our advisors, to our clients” said Solomon, who lives in Clifton Park. He said Saratoga Springs was also considered when choosing a new location.
The company offers a wide array of products to help clients achieve their financial goals. A few of the services offered include wealth management, financial planning, investments, insurance planning, tax planning, college savings, estates, and investment banking.
Halliday Financial has been recognized for its contributions to the community. The team participates in charities such as the Ronald McDonald House. It recently participated in a golf tournament in the nearby Edison Club in Niskayuna, with proceeds going towards children’s hospitals.
“We like to support the community that supports us,” said Solomon.
Halliday Financial had $1.46 billion in assets under management at the end of 2016, he said. They manage approximately 6,800 clients. Of the three locations, Albany is the largest, Solomon said.
It offers its services for College of New York (CUNY) employees. CUNY members can take advantage of its retirement planning and wealth planning services. These services helped Halliday Financial become popular in the Long Island area.
