Jack Mewhorter was promoted to assistant vice president, management information systems at Ballston Spa National Bank.
Mewhorter will be responsible for business intelligence and management reporting to support the strategic goals of the bank, in addition to continuing his roles as information security officer and business continuity facilitator.
Mewhorter joined Ballston Spa National Bank in 2005 as an information security officer. He received a bachelor of science in marketing, majoring in personal selling/sales management from Bowling Green State University.

Roohan Realty has announced two new hires.
Michelle Everts has joined the company as a licensed real estate salesperson. She will work with the Roohan Realty team and real estate clients in all areas of the market, from residential to commercial to investments.
Everts is a graduate of SUNY Empire State College with a degree in human services with a concentration in criminal studies. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Greater Capital Region Association of Realtors.
She resides in Wilton.
Neil Corkery has joined the company as a licensed real estate agent. Corkery grew up in Greenwich and now lives in Saratoga Springs.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Gordon College in Massachusetts. Corkery is new to real estate sales although he previously worked in the mortgage industry at Wachovia.

Franklin Community Center announced that Stacie Haswell Arpey is a new member of its board of directors.
Arpey has been director of the Local Egg Foundation, which offers educational support to local students aged 11-18. After earning a bachelor’s degree in labor relations / public policy from Syracuse University, she worked as a labor relations specialist at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
She then earned a master’s in clinical psychology and certification in school psychology and worked as a school psychologist in Pennsylvania and New York.
Arpey also serves on the board of directors at Yaddo and works with philanthropic organizations in Washington, D.C.

The Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau has hired Talia Cass as director, marketing and communications.
Her primary role with the bureau will be as the lead disseminator of the Discover Saratoga brand. Through traditional and non-traditional means, Cass will be tasked with building upon the bureau’s efforts to position itself as a global destination for meetings, conventions, sports tournaments, special events, tour groups and destination weddings.
Cass will work directly with the bureau team to attract new business opportunities to Saratoga, build attendance for those groups bringing their events to Saratoga and provide a platform for member businesses to promote their goods and services to conference and event attendees.
A 2014 graduate from the College of Saint Rose with a B.A. in communications and a concentration in public relations and advertising, she joined the Proctors Theatre team in Schenectady as the account executive for the Schenectady County Tourism Promotion Agency, which eventually led to her role as the tourism and convention manager. While in this role at Proctors, she provided key marketing support to the Capital-Saratoga Regional Tourism Promotional Agency.
Cass is a current board member of the Schenectady Greenmarket and past Board member of the state Tourism Industry Association and the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway Coalition.

Coldwell Banker Prime Properties announces that associate broker Carol Raike has exceeded $116 million in career sales, becoming one of only a handful of brokers with the company to reach this milestone.
Raike has been a full-time real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Prime Properties for nearly 16 years and currently works out of the agency’s Saratoga Springs office. She specializes in all areas of residential real estate, from new construction and first-time home buyers to corporate relocations and the luxury home market.
The company said Raike got her start in the real estate industry in 2001 and obtained her broker’s license in 2004. She was recently named as one of the Top 25 Coldwell Banker Producers in the Capital District. Raike is also a trained relocation services advisor, working within that department of Coldwell Banker Prime Properties to assist individuals and families coming to the area through a corporate relocation.
Raike’s industry awards include the Coldwell Banker National’s Diamond and Sterling Society awards and the Platinum Pinnacle Award. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors and Greater Capital Region Association of Realtors.

The Saratoga Builders Association Inc. announced that Molly Gagnon of Saratoga Springs is the recipient of the association’s 2017 student scholarship award.
Gagnon is a senior at Saratoga Springs High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She will be attending Northeastern University to study architecture this coming fall.
The Saratoga Builders Association makes the $1000 student scholarship award available annually to high school seniors who are planning to pursue a construction industry education.

Dani Martindale and Samantha Niro recently joined the team at Mannix Marketing Inc. as a digital marketing strategists.
Martindale will provide clients with search engine optimization, pay-per-click campaign management and digital marketing strategies.
She brings four years of marketing experience, as well as certifications in Google AdWords and Google Analytics.
Prior to joining Mannix, she was employed as the internet sales coordinator for Walker’s Farm Home & Tack and, most recently, as the marketing coordinator with Saratoga Horseworks and their contract manufacturing division, Custom Sewn Products. She holds a bachelor’s degree in professional studies in management from Cazenovia College.
In her new role, Niro will provide clients with search engine optimization and digital marketing strategies.
Niro has two years of marketing experience, including graphic design experience. Prior to joining Mannix, she was employed as a graphic design coordinator for a Denver restaurant group. More recently, she was a brand specialist for a private neurology practice. She holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in graphic design from the University of Buffalo.
Her areas of expertise include digital design, social media management, and content creation.
