Charles Schwab, a full-service investment services firm, recently opened a new independent branch in Saratoga Springs.
Company officials said it offers a range of investing and personal finance guidance, tools and products. The office is at 46 Marion Ave.
The branch will also serve the neighboring towns of Wilton, Ballston Spa and Glens Falls.
Charles Schwab ranked “highest in investor satisfaction with full-service brokerage firms” in the J.D. Power 2016 Full Service Investor Satisfaction Study.
The Saratoga Springs branch is led by Schwab independent branch leader Maureen Parker, a financial services professional with 19 years of experience in investment management.
Prior to joining Schwab’s network, Parker was a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Previously, she served as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.
Parker also held positions at Credit Lyonnais Securities and Punk Ziegel in New York on the institutional sales desk. She began her career with Fidelity Investments as a customer sales representative and financial advisor.
“Through my conversations with clients, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for people to have local access to actionable investing help and guidance that makes sense for their specific financial goals,” said Parker. “Since its founding, Schwab has been an advocate for the individual investor, and I’m proud to be the face of Schwab in Saratoga Springs and surrounding communities.”
Parker attended Saint Michael’s College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
She said she expects to hold a variety of educational investing workshops in the Saratoga Springs branch, which are complimentary and open to Schwab clients as well as the general public.
Officials said the new Saratoga Springs location is part of a larger franchising initiative Schwab announced in early 2011. Its decision to begin opening franchise branches, in addition to its more than 300 existing company-managed branches, is grounded in a commitment to make financial advice and guidance more accessible in local communities across the country.
