Alaturco Mediterranean Grill owner Rauf Ziya wasn’t sure how well his restaurant would do, but months after the grand opening, he happily reports that the Clifton Park restaurant is exceeding his expectations.
Ziya said the Clifton Park Center location on Clifton Country Road has been a huge asset to his Turkish cuisine business.
“It has been wonderful, it truly has,” said Ziya.
Ziya said that the food they serve in his 2,600-square-foot restaurant is much more than just a meal. Ziya describes each dish as a craft that tells a story of Turkish heritage. The lunch and dinner selections also are all accompanied by unique Turkish wine selections, as well as domestic drink options.
All meals are prepared with fresh ingredients that make up authentic traditional and modern Turkish foods. Ziya said they have around 10 employees who are all dedicated to providing a positive experience as soon as a customer enters the restaurant.
Ziya said the menu is very similar to the Alaturco Grill in Ballston Spa, which was opened in 2014 by his brother-in-law. He worked as a chef in Ballston Spa and said when the opportunity came to open a similar restaurant in Clifton Park, he found it hard to say no.
“I couldn’t resist, and it’s all going so well,” said Ziya.
The Clifton Park location is now offering live music, something that Ziya is very excited about.
“We have live music and belly dancing, it add something really special,” said Ziya.
The interior of Alaturco has a Turkish flare that adds to the ambience and experience. Some of the most popular dishes include baba ghanoush, hummus, gyros, kebabs, stuffed grape leaves and a variety of sautés. They cater and have online ordering.
