Halfmoon Wine and Liquor store opened in November in the Crescent Commons shopping plaza.
The store is located at 1471 Route 9, just south of Grooms Road in the town of Halfmoon.
Owner Mike Klimkewicz and his wife are long-time residents of Clifton Park and they saw the need for a conveniently located wine and spirits shop south of the busy Exit 9 traffic corridor. Klimkewicz and his wife own the Crescent Commons shopping plaza. When D.A.M. Liquor closed, they decided that a wine and liquor store would be a good addition to the already busy plaza.
Crescent Commons also has Fred the Butcher, a barber shop, a dog grooming business, a hair and nail salon and several other professional services, making it a convenient place for Halfmoon residents to shop.
Store manager Shelley Colvin has more than 10 years’ of experience in the retail wine and liquor industry. She said that they carry a large selection of wines and spirits, both domestic and internationally imported. They also have a large organic section of products, as well as a large assortment of Finger Lakes and Adirondack region wines.
“We also carry a nice selection of hard-to-find wines,” she said.
Local distilleries are also available on the shelves.
Colvin noted they have made a big effort to offer competitive pricing similar to some of the larger wine and liquor stores.
Halfmoon Wine and Liquor offers a customer rewards program. For every $250 customers spend, they will receive a $10 gift card to use in the store.
Currently, Halfmoon Wine and Liquor is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m., with plans to expand those hours soon. For more information, visit Halfmoon Wine and Liquor on Facebook.
