The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce’s Veterans Business Council is selling 2017 calendars to raise money for veterans programs in Saratoga County.
The calendar, which features a military theme with photos of various activities of the Veterans Business Council, is $10.
The Veterans Business Council is a group that works to help veterans find employment opportunities and supports veterans seeking to start their own business.
Several area businesses have supported the calendar initiative by sponsoring pages. These businesses include Cole’s Collision, G.A. Bove Fuels, Martin’s Point HealthCare, the Wesley Community, Brookside Nursery, Lakeside Farms, Impressions of Saratoga, Mangino Chevrolet–Buick-GMC, Logistics One, Hedley & Co. PLLC, the Adirondack Trust Co., Curtis Lumber and Nemer Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Saratoga.
The calendars were produced by Logo & Design Wearhaus, a veteran-owned business based in Saratoga County.
The calendars are available at the offices of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, 28 Clinton St., Saratoga Springs and through any member of the Veterans Business Council.

The National Bottle Museum, at 76 Milton Ave. (Route 50) in Ballston Spa, is switching to its winter schedule one month earlier than usual.
As of Dec. 1, it will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and by appointment. Appointments should be made by calling 885-7589 or e-mailing nbm@nycap.rr.com at least two weeks in advance.

Lee Audio ‘N Security Inc. of Clifton Park was awarded the Diamond Distributor Award for outstanding service and sales achieved at the Notifier Leadership Conference in October in Orlando, Fla.
The conference was attended by Rick Gore, president, and Ricky Gore, engineer of the company.
The company, started in 1970, is family owned and operated by the Gore family of Lee. As a Notifier premier distributor they install and service fire and security alarms, closed circuit TV, access control systems, and sound systems throughout western Massachusetts, Southern Vermont and the Capital District.

Enrollment is open for health insurance coverage through the NY State of Health Marketplace and the Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) is offering free assistance services to individuals, families and small business owners in seven North Country counties—Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington.
Enrollment specialists provide unbiased assistance to help clients determine their health insurance eligibility for qualified health plans and such programs as Medicaid, Child Health Plus and the Essential Plan. The specialists are all state-certified.

Soroptimist International of Saratoga County has $25,000 in grant funding available for organizations that serve the needs of women and girls in the county.
These awards, given by the club each year, seek to improve the lives and quality of life of women and girls in our local community.
The application deadline is Jan. 31.
In order to qualify, organizations must be in or serve the needs of citizens of Saratoga County. Consideration will be given to the number of people served. Grants are typically awarded for programmatic, start-up, or capital projects. Individual endeavors such as pageants and competitions are not funded.
