Ballston Spa National Bank recently
partnered with bank customers to provide
assistance to area food pantries.
Along with the food collected during the
bank’s sixth annual food drive, customers gave
nearly $5,000 in monetary donations and in
response, BSNB matched more than $2,500.
The combined total of nearly $7,500 benefits
12 organizations located across the region.
The food pantries benefitting from the
bank’s efforts this year include: Christ Episcopal
Church, Ballston Spa; First Baptist Church,
Ballston Spa; United Methodist Church,
Ballston Spa; Saratoga County Economic Opportunity
Council; CAPTAIN Food Pantry;
Malta Community Center; Greenfield Food
Pantry; United Methodist Church, Burnt Hills;
Shenendehowa Helping Hands Food Pantry;
Greater Galway Community Services Association;
Stillwater United Church; Wilton Food
Pantry; and City Mission of Schenectady.
Funds for 11 of the food pantries were
recently delivered by BSNB staff members
to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern
New York. By partnering with the Regional
Food Bank, these member agencies are able
to receive approximately $11 worth of food
for every $1 donated. Organizations not partnering
with the Regional Food Bank received
their funds directly. Collected food items were
delivered to designated food pantries.
