Chartered Financial
Consultant (ChFC) professional
designation
from The American College,
Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Candidates for the
ChFC designation must complete a minimum of
nine courses and 18 hours of supervised examinations.
They must also fulfill stringent experience
and ethics requirements. The ChFC program prepares
professionals to meet the advanced financial
needs of individuals, families and small-business
owners. Individuals who earn a ChFC designation
can provide expert advice on a broad range of financial
topics including financial planning, wealth
accumulation and estate planning, life and health
insurance, business planning, investments and retirement
planning.
Anderson, of West Charlton, received a bachelor
of science degree from Cornell and also an associate’s
degree in agricultural science from SUNY
Cobleskill. He started with Northwestern Mutual
in 2008 and has worked with Chuck Martin in
Saratoga Springs for over two years.

(NAPFA).
Membership in NAPFA
and the NAPFA-registered
financial advisor
designation are available only to fee-only financial
advisors who meet NAPFA’s stringent membership
qualifications. Those standards require advisors to
receive compensation only directly from their clients,
to act in clients’ fiduciary interests at all times,
and to provide comprehensive planning services.
In addition, NAPFA has some of the profession’s
most rigorous education and professional development
requirements. All candidates for membership
are required to submit a complete comprehensive
financial plan for a full-scale peer review.
Furthermore, NAPFA’s continuing education requirements
exceed those of any other association
of financial advisors.

Ronald L. Guzior, CPA,
as partner in charge of
its Albany office.
Guzior joined Sax-
BST’s predecessor firm
Bollam, Sheedy, Torani
& Co. (BST) in 1988
and became a partner
in 1998. Prior to being
named a partner, he was a senior manager in the
firm’s accounting and auditing department.
He has expertise in several specialty service
areas, including nonprofit organizations, construction
contractors and closely held businesses. He is
the head of the firm’s Audit & Accounting Department
and a member of the firm’s quality control
committee and board of directors.
Guzior is a member of the state Society of
Certified Public Accountants, and the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
which awarded him the certificate of educational
achievement in non profit accounting and auditing.
He currently serves as a board member of St.
Peter’s Health Partners, is a member of its Finance
Committee and is chairman of its Compliance and
Audit Committee. He is also past president of the
Northeast Chapter of New York State Society of
Certified Public Accountants.
