Hattie’s Restaurant and owners Jasper and
Beth Alexander announced that in honor of
its 50th anniversary, Saratoga Performing Arts
Center will be the beneficiary of the annual
Mardi Gras Soirée and fundraiser, on Saturday,
Jan. 16, from 6-10 p.m. at the Canfield Casino
in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs.
This year’s event is themed “A Midsummer
Night’s Dream” in celebration of the New York
City Ballet’s inaugural performance that opened
SPAC in 1966.
The funds raised will support SPAC’s 50th
anniversary season.
In 2001, Hattie’s owners Jasper and Beth Alexander
founded the annual Marti Gras Soirée to
support local nonprofit groups. Since then, the
event has raised over $600,000 for various charities,
including Shelters of Saratoga, Saratoga
YMCA, Saratoga Hospital, Bridges of Saratoga,
Saratoga Sponsor a Scholar, Saratoga Community
Center, SPAC, and Jake’s Help from Heaven.
The event will offer a complimentary cocktail
from 6-7 p.m., Mardi Gras-inspired cuisine by
Chef Jasper Alexander, cash bar, lottery raffle
and a silent auction. Reservations are $100 per
person and can be made by contacting Christy
Pronto at cpronto@spac.org or 584-9330 x. 119.
