Soroptimist International of Saratoga
County (SISC) will feature renowned journalist
Anna Therese Day as the keynote speaker for the
club’s premier fundraiser, Cabin Fever.
Day will showcase her work advocating for
women’s issues in areas of political unrest at
Cabin Fever at 11 a.m. on Jan. 23 at the Saratoga
National Golf Club, 458 Union Ave., Saratoga
Springs. Event proceeds are used to improve the
lives of women and children locally, nationally
and internationally.
Day is an award-winning independent journalist
and 2013 Fulbright Fellow who co-founded
an organization that represents journalists
who work in areas of political and military
conflict. On the ground in Bahrain, Brazil, Egypt,
Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Syria and Turkey, her
coverage focuses on American foreign policy,
women’s issues and youth organizing.
Her work has been featured in a variety of
media outlets including CNN, Al Jazeera English,
and CBS. Day is a regular contributor on
HuffPostLive and is acclaimed for her debates
with President Barak Obama, former Secretary
of State Condoleezza Rice and GOP presidential
hopeful Mitt Romney.
Cabin Fever attracted more than 200 people
and raised in excess of $40,000 last year.
