A 14,000-square-foot warehouse storage
project is under way at the Geyser Road location
of Saratoga Spring Water Co.
A.C. Madkour, president of the company,
said the project will give the business more
storage space to house its inventory.
The project has been in the works for the
better part of the year, going through the permitting
process.
General contracting is being done in-house,
with plan engineer Nick Pone doing all research,
making contacts and getting quotes.
The building and property are owned by the
company.
“The permitting has been a big hurdle as
far as timing and getting things approved, and
getting all the ducks in a row so we can break
ground,” said Madkour.
Groundbreaking was pushed out to the
spring of 2016 because of weather and an arduous
permitting process. Madkour hopes to
have the project completed by the fall of 2016.
“We’re hoping it’s a spring board to smooth
out operations and help us gauge future growth
needs,” Madkour said.
“One of the biggest reasons the business
has dictated that we needed to expand our
storage space is the push we’ve been making
in the retail avenue. We’ve been expanding into
grocery chains across the country right now.
Hopefully, the Saratoga blue bottle will become
a household fixture very soon,” said Madkour.
The company was founded in 1872.
