The Saratoga Women in Business (SWIB)
group will hold its inaugural meeting 5-7
p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at the Saratoga
CoWorks, 153 Regent St., Saratoga Springs.
The SWIB group targets female business
leaders in the greater Saratoga Springs
area and offers free bi-monthly fellowship
opportunities. Wine and light snacks, sponsored
by area businesses, will be provided
at each gathering, and door prizes will also
be awarded.
“The main goal of the SWIB group is to
give Saratoga’s women business leaders an
opportunity to get to know one another in
a relaxed setting,” said Heidi Ives, one of
the group’s founders and sales manager at
HomeBridge Financial Services Inc.
“We believe that if women make friends
first, the business will follow,” said Dorothy
Rogers-Bullis, another SWIB founding member
and owner of drb Business Interiors.
“We are so excited to get these successful
women together on a regular basis to not
only make professional connections, but
also to make new friends,” noted Margaret Perkins Noel, SWIB co-founder and assistant
director of annual giving at Skidmore
College.
They said every SWIB meeting will include
a five-minute presentation by a local
woman-run nonprofit organization.
The May non-profit spotlight will be on
Kupona Foundation. Based in Saratoga
Springs, Kupona Foundation is improving
access to quality healthcare for thousands
of women and newborns in Tanzania, giving
them the opportunity to build a brighter
future. Visit www.kuponafoundation.org to

“I love that the SWIB organization has a
charitable component,” said another of the
group’s founders, Rachel Spensieri, a freelance
writer and editor in Saratoga Springs.
“This is a great opportunity to allow these
non-profits to share their mission with an
enthusiastic audience.”
