David Geurtze and John Bogardus have
purchased B&B Wine and Liquors in the
Price Chopper Plaza on Route 50 in Saratoga
Springs.
They bought the company from Richard
Sheridan and Dan Beauregard, who have operated
the store since 1992 and ran it for 22 years.
The former owners plan to retire, according to
ThielGroup LLC, which brokered the sale.
B&B Liquors has been serving the Saratoga
region as a neighborhood liquor store since it
opened in 1973. The store is in a high-volume
shopping center with Price Chopper, as well as
many national retail chains and local vendors.
“John and I are very excited about our new
venture and all that Saratoga Springs has to
offer,” said Geurtze. “We look forward to continuing
to provide customers with the great wines
and spirits they enjoy, and growing our selection
to include new products.”
“Our goal is to create a unique shopping experience,”
added Bogardus. “We want to focus
on providing expert professional service and
great quality products, all tailored to the needs
of the customer.”
Beauregard said he and Sheridan “are delighted
to leave the store and our patrons in
the hands of two industry experts. Dave has
15 years of experience and was the manager of
Upstate Wine and Spirits in Delmar’s Delaware
Plaza. John is an oenophile who will expand the
stores selection of fine wines.”
Kathlene Thiel of ThielGroup, LLC. was
the selling broker and advisor in the sale of
the business. The formal address is 129 Ballston Ave.
