Bureau announced
that Kayla
Kreis joined
the staff as wedding
market manager
and sales coordinator.
Kreis has hospitality
experience
in Saratoga Springs as well as at The
Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing and
The Otesaga Resort in Cooperstown.
She
graduated from Niagara University with
a duel bachelor’s degree in hospitality
and tourism management and theatre
performance.
Christopher R. Dowd, president and
CEO of Ballston Spa National Bank, was
elected chairman of the Independent
Bankers Association of New York State
(IBANYS).
Dowd, who previously served as vice
chairman and as treasurer, was elected to
the new position earlier this year during
the IBANYS annual convention. His one year
term began immediately.
Dowd has more than 25 years of experience
in the financial services industry and
has been president of BSNB since 2004.
Prior to that, he was the bank’s senior loan
officer and a senior vice president.
In addition to his service on the IBANYS
board, Dowd is a past-chairman and
current board member for the American
Red Cross Adirondack/Saratoga Chapter,
a current board member of the American
Red Cross Northeastern New York Region
and a trustee of the Northeast Kidney
Foundation.
Max London’s restaurant
in Saratoga
Springs hired Zachary
Cutler as executive
chef.
Prior to joining
Max London’s, Cutler
worked at the
Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel as the executive chef. He first
entered the industry in 2004 and gained
experience working in restaurants, hotels
and catering facilities throughout Westchester
County and the Hudson Valley.
At one time he opened and successfully
operated a farm-to-table concept restaurant
in Fishkill, N.Y.
Cutler is a Newburgh native. He is
a graduate of the Culinary Institute of
America in Hyde Park and has a background
in French and Mediterranean
cuisine.
SaxBST announced the following new
hires:
Carol Kenyon, CPA joins the firm’s
Business Advisory Group as a manager.
She previously worked for another local
CPA firm. She is a graduate of St.
Bonaventure University and resides in
Schenectady.
Chelsey Wei joins the accounting and
auditing team as a senior associate. She
previously worked for another local CPA
firm. She has a master of science degree
in accounting from Siena College and currently
resides in Clifton Park.
Lori Koubek joins the firm’s Valuation,
Forensic and Litigation Services
group as an administrative assistant. She
previously worked for a local law firm and
resides in Broadalbin.

was recognized
as a 2114
National Association
of Professional
Women VIP Woman
of the Year for her
outstanding leadership
and commitment
within her profession.
Garro is president of Enlightened
Envisions in Saratoga Springs where she
coaches people to lead rewarding lives.
She is an author, artist and speaker. Her
five books include “Grow Yourself a Life
You’ll Love.”
She holds a B.S. in business and professional
communication; a master’s in
liberal studies from Empire State College;
is a Corporate Coach University graduate
and Coaches Training Institute graduate.
GreyCastle Security, a cybersecurity
consulting firm, added Rebecca Rathbun,
cybersecurity solutions advisor, to
its staff.
Rathbun will identify and develop new
opportunities for growth and manage clients’
accounts. She will serve as a point
of contact for new prospects and provide
insight on information security services
available.
A College of Saint Rose graduate, Rathbun
is originally from Portland, Ore., and
currently resides in Ballston Spa.
Fingerpaint welcomed
Derek Solek
to its creative team.
Solek has spent
the past two years
working as a freelance
graphic designer
and mixed media
artist for
Burst Marketing and
Fingerpaint. Over
the years, he has
served as lead catalog designer for Title
Boxing in Lenexa, Kans., which included
design for Everlast, Title MMA and Line-
Drive. He also spent time as a graphic
designer for Sodexo/Chartwells at the
University of Albany.
Solek earned his bachelor of fine arts
degree in graphic design at The College
of Saint Rose.
Beacon Sales of Saratoga announced
the addition of Shawn Shiffert to its
staff.
Shiffert is a knuckle boom operator
with over 20 years experience. The company
said he brings a strong track record
for safety, reliability, sales expertise and
talent as a boom truck crane operator. He
is a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs.
Roohan Realty announce that Oliver
Aldrich joined the company as a licensed
real estate salesperson.
Before joining Roohan Realty, Oliver attended
Castleton State College in Vermont
where he studied sports administration.
He worked for the city of Saratoga Springs
in the Recreation Department and most
recently worked in the sales department
at Saratoga Honda.

Anderson, financial

Springs, have qualified
for the NAIFA
Quality Award from
the National Association
of Insurance
and Financial Advisors
(NAIFA).
The NAIFA Quality Award recognizes
professionalism through education and
earned designations, production measured
by performance metrics customized
for each practice specialty, adherence to
the NAIFA Code of Ethics, and service to
the industry association.
It is the 29th
time Martin earned this honor which
recognizes representatives for their
competence and
dedication to the
insurance industry
and their clients.
Martin has been
associated with Northwestern Mutual
since 1983. A native
of Whitesboro,
Martin received a
bachelor of science
degree in accounting and finance in 1982
from Clarkson University.
It is the fifth time Anderson earned
the honor. He has been associated with
Northwestern Mutual since 2008. A native
of West Charlton, Anderson received a
bachelor of science degree from Cornell.
He also received an associate’s in agricultural
science from SUNY Cobleskill.
Four local agents were named third quarter
award winners by Prudential
Manor Homes Realtors.
Fran Callahan of the Prudential
Manor Homes, Clifton Park office earned
first place in residential sales units in
all of New York state among the entire
Prudential Real Estate network. He was
also second place in total sales volume in
all the state among the entire network.
Jenny Mirling and Charlie Goodridge
of the Prudential Manor Homes,
Saratoga Springs office, earned second
place in residential sales units in all of
New York state.
Joan Taub, also of the Saratoga
Springs office, earned third place in
residential sales units in all of the state
among the entire Prudential Real Estate
network.
For 92 years and four generations of
local family direction, Prudential Manor
Homes Realtors, a Berkshire Hathaway
affiliate, has been operating in New York
state.
Glens Falls National Bank and Trust
Co. announced the appointments of Vice
President Sandra Hoffis to South Glens
Falls branch manager and Vice President
Leslie D’Angelico to Queensbury/Glens
Falls regional manager.
Hoffis will oversee operations at the
South Glens Falls office. She joined the
bank in 2005 and most recently served as
branch manager for the Broad Street and
Exit 18 offices in the Glens Falls area.
Hoffis is a graduate of the Adirondack
Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership
Adirondack Program. Active in the
community, she is a former U.S. Naval
Reservist and a volunteer with March of
Dimes, American Cancer Society, Young
Life, the Argyle Fire Department and its
FEAST Thanksgiving meal program.
In the newly created role of Queensbury/
Glens Falls regional manager, D’Angelico
will oversee daily activities, human
resources and sales performance at
branches in the Queensbury/Glens Falls
region, working with those teams to help
them reach their goals. She joined the
bank in 2010 and most recently served as
business development officer.
D’Angelico attended SUNY Adirondack
and has completed several courses from
the American Institute of Banking. She
is a graduate of the Adirondack Regional
Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership
Adirondack Program and holds Series
7 and 66 licenses, as well as New York
licenses for Life and Health Insurance.
She serves as treasurer for Queensbury
Community Scholarship Association and
as an advisory board member for the Salvation
Army.
