House of Polish Nails and Spa opened in
November at 1111 Ellsworth Boulevard, Malta,
in the Ellsworth Commons complex, off Route 9.
Linda Nguyen, the proprietor, worked in
nail salons growing up. She received an MBA
from Sage College, but felt unsatisfied with her
career path. “It seemed like I was happiest when I was
working with clients in the nail salon,” she said.
“So I decided to quit my 9-5 corporate job and
start my own business.”
The salon focuses on nail treatments, including
nail enhancements, manicures and
pedicures. Nguyen offers acrylics, gels, as well
as ANC (Amazing Nail Concepts). ANC is an
alternative to acrylic nails, known for its durability
and strength.
Customers can also receive waxing treatments
at House of Polish. Nguyen does eyebrow,
lip and chin waxing procedures.
In the near future, the salon will be adding
massages to their services, she said.
Nguyen has spent years in the spa industry,
listening to clients. She used the knowledge
to help build House of Polish Nails and Spa.
The large and spacious salon is decorated in
neutral tones that help provide a warm, calming
environment.
“It’s not a quick in and out [here],” Nguyen
said. She wants her clients to come in and have
a relaxing, spa-like experience.
Nguyen is excited to have her business in
the Ellsworth Commons. She believes it is a
more upscale location. She hopes that the other
businesses within the Commons will help bring traffic to the salon.
House of Polish hosted their Open House
on November 17. The business celebrated with
light refreshments, and many family and friends
joined the festivities. “It was a really good turnout”
said Nguyen.
Nguyen is offering a 20 percent discount to all first-time clients.
House of Polish is open Monday and Tuesday,
10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, 9
a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is
open Sundays by appointment only. Walk-ins are
