RealtyUSA announced it has merged
the local real estate franchise Weichert
Realtors-Northeast, Capital Region offices
with RealtyUSA.
The move became effective Sept. 17.
Officials said the merger follows many
successful years as an affiliate Weichert
franchisee and the expiration of the franchise
agreement.
Weichert Realtors-Northeast agents will
continue to service their clients with the enhanced
products and services of RealtyUSA
and a broader Upstate New York market
reach, the groups said.
After growing a successful company
over the past 25 years and after much due
diligence, Doug Engels and Peter Staniels,
co-owners and operators of local real estate
franchise Weichert Realtors-Northeast, and their team of approximately 65 Realtors
and professional staff will join RealtyUSA’s
Capital Region sales force.
Officials said the new RealtyUSA agents
will continue to operate out of their former
Weichert locations in Guilderland, Clifton
Park and Saratoga, bringing the number of
RealtyUSA offices serving the Capital District
to 12, and increasing their local market
share to just over 23 percent.
“I am excited about the opportunity to
work with the management team and all of
the agents and staff at Realty USA,” Engels
said. “When two top companies have the
chance to come together and create new
synergies and market place dynamics everyone
benefits. Peter Staniels and I built our
company over the last 25 years and I look forward to this new era with RealtyUSA.”
Staniels said after years of doing business
with agents and managers of RealtyUSA, “I
have great respect and admiration for what
they have accomplished. I also have many
friends there as a result. It just makes sense
that we work together now.”
Merle Whitehead, president/CEO of
RealtyUSA said, “We are so honored to be
welcoming Doug, Peter and their distinguished
group of agents and staff. Their
experience and professionalism is the perfect
complement to the team of RealtyUSA
agents and employees already serving the
greater Capital Region.”
RealtyUSA is an independent real estate
company now boasting over 65 sales offices
statewide and in northeast Pennsylvania
and serving client needs through the professionalism
of nearly 2,000 agents. RealtyUSA

sides, as reported by RealTrends, a real
