Naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist,
Dr. Cheryl Wong, ND, LAc recently opened her
practice in Saratoga Springs, integrating naturopathic
medicine, acupuncture and Chinese
medicine to help patients.
Her specialties include women’s health
and pain. She also has a special interest in
endocrine and autoimmune disorders.
She practices out of High Peak Acupuncture,
3 Franklin Square, Suite 3, Saratoga
Springs.
High Peaks is operated by Sandra Sang
“Sam” Lee.
Wong said naturopathic medicine integrates
evidence-based conventional and alternative
approaches and natural treatments, including
nutrition counseling, supplements, acupuncture,
Chinese medicine and Western herbs.
She often works with her patients’ primary
care providers to help her clients with their
health goals.
Acupuncture and Chinese medicine have
been a complete system of medicine for more
than 2000 years, explained Wong. Acupuncture
employs the insertion of very fine needles to
stimulate areas of the body that relieve specific
symptoms. In the most recent literature, it has
been shown to relieve a variety of symptoms
including migraines, low back pain and hot
flashes.
Dr. Wong has a doctorate degree in naturopathic
medicine and masters in acupuncture and oriental medicine from Bastyr University in
Seattle, Wash., and encourages people seeking
naturopathic care to find providers who have
also graduated from a CNME-accredited school
and have passed their licensing board exams.
