Saratoga Pool & Tub Co. jumped into
the local swimming pool market a little
slowly this season, its first. Like all local
pool companies, the harsh winter and cool
spring was the cause.
But as summer comes into full swing,
owner Jonathan Lerman and his staff of
about 10 are busy. Field and service work
“has been relentless” with the advent of
better weather, he said.
Working out of an office at 68 Weibel Ave.
in Saratoga Springs (near the golf driving
range), Lerman opened the business in
April. He’s been in the pool business since
1999, including work in Florida for a time.
When Apple Pool went out of business,
he purchased trucks and equipment from
its owner Gary Torrisi, who is a now a consultant
for Saratoga Pool & Tub. Lerman
also works with Apple’s customers, as well
as taking on new jobs.
Saratoga Pool & Tub Co. is a full service
pool company and installs in-ground pools,
above-ground pools and gunite pools.
It sells pool and spa chemicals, robotic
vacuums, motors and all kinds of parts for
pool equipment.
They do liner replacements and have a
20-year guarantee on the liners: full guarantee
for five years and pro-rated for the
next 15, he said.
It has a shop to repair filter motor and
robotic vacuums, as well as all the necessary
chemicals. Lerman said a lot of its
business is opening and closing pools, doing
weekly maintenance and offering expert
advice to customers.
“I enjoy seeing people use their pools
and enjoy their pools without getting a
headache” worrying about the details for
keeping a pool clean and safe, he said.
“Pools are about the kids and letting
them enjoy it,” he noted. “We have a good
family store where people can come in
and get good advice so they can just enjoy
their pool.”
When opening and closing pools, or doing
service calls, Lerman said his staff takes a
little extra time to leave the pool as clean
as possible. Even at closing time, they remove
leaves they see so the owner doesn’t
have to deal with them in the spring.
The company can be reached at 581-
8468. Lerman said service jobs are being
done at all times of the day, if need be, to
get the job completed correctly. The shop
is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6
p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
