The Saratoga Builders Association, Inc. announced
that Magdalena Zink of Rock City
Falls is the recipient of its 2014 scholarship
award.
Zink, a graduate
of Ballston Spa High
School, will attend Cornell
University College
of Architecture, Art and
Planning in the fall.
Zink was a member
of a team which has
participated in the
“Odyssey of the Mind”
competition since 2004. It placed first at the
regional competitions for seven years and went
to the world competition twice.
She is also a member of the National Honor
Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Swing
Dance Club, Hippies for Hope, Theater Troupe,
4-H, Girl Scouts, and is part of a Flute Quartet
playing local events for the past four years. She
placed first in the 2014 Model Bridge Competition
held annually by the American Society
of Civil Engineers and Association for Bridge
Construction and Design.
Elizabeth Page of Saratoga Springs was
elected president and treasurer of Talent
Guild International at
its June 10 meeting.
TGI is a group of
on-camera, voice-over,
print and theatrical
talent in the Capital
Region. It provides a
one-stop shopping experience
for those hiring
talent.
Other board members
elected were Roger Kennedy of Guilderland,
secretary; Bill Nevitt of Corinth, vice
president of marketing, and Mark Grimm of
Guilderland vice president of communications.
The terms are for one year.
Kindra McHale, immediate past executive
director of the YMCA in Clifton Park, joined
the Mechanicville Area Community Services
Center (MACSC) as a part-time development
coordinator.
McHale will take the agency’s lead role in
identifying, investigating and pursuing multiple
sources of revenue and other resources
to help MACSC pursue its service programs.
McHale worked at the Southern Saratoga
YMCA for 11 years, starting as an aquatics director.
She became executive director in 2010.
She is a member of the Mechanicville-
Stillwater Chamber, and serves on the board
of directors for the Southern Saratoga County
Chamber of Commerce, the Saratoga County
Community Coalition, and the Shenendehowa
Health and Wellness Committee.
The board of directors of Espey Mfg. & Electronics
Corp. announced that Mark St. Pierre
resigned as president, chief executive officer
and a director of the company.
The resignation was effective on June 27.
David O’Neil, currently chief financial officer,
was appointed as interim president and
chief executive officer. Katrina Sparano,
currently assistant treasurer and principal accounting
officer, has been appointed as interim
principal financial officer.
The board of directors has commenced the
process for the identification of a permanent
successor to St. Pierre.
St. Pierre has served as the company’s
president since 2009 and as president and chief executive officer since 2010.
Adirondack Technical Solutions hired two

Brush brings five
years of experience to
the team.
Sprague comes to the

He has

experience. He has multiple
certifications in
VMware, Microsoft and
Symantec Technologies.
His specialties are
virtualization, messaging and collaboration,
unified communications and all Microsoft
server platforms.
Ianniello Anderson, PC, a local law firm announced
the addition of Edward R. Hitti, a
loss mitigation lawyer.
Hitti is experienced in real property and
land use issues and assists in processing all
aspects of loss mitigation department transactions.
In this position, he researches, reviews
and analyzes documents pertaining to loan
modifications, short sales, partial claims and
deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
Hitti attended Utica College of Syracuse
University, where he studied government and
politics. In 2013, he earned his juris doctorate
degree from Albany Law School. He was an
intern for the state Attorney General.
The BSNB Charitable
Foundation awarded
Lukas Dunn, a senior
at Stillwater High
School, with a $1,000
scholarship.
Dunn was chosen
based on his record of
academic achievement,
while also exemplifying
a commitment to community
service and support. Lukas is a member
of the National Honor Society and plans to
attend Hudson Valley Community College,
majoring in criminal justice.
The BSNB Charitable Foundation was
established in 2009 by Ballston Spa National
Bank to support educational, civic and other
charitable cause.
Saratoga Hospital recently welcomed cardiologist
Dr. Nicoleta Daraban to its medical staff.
Daraban earned her
medical degree from
Carol Davila University
of Medicine and Pharmacy
in Bucharest, Romania.
She completed
a residency at New York
Downtown Hospital
in New York City and
fellowships in cardiovascular
medicine and
interventional cardiology at the University of
Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
She is board certified in internal medicine
with subspecialty certifications in cardiovascular
disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology
and peripheral vascular ultrasound. She is
seeing patients in two locations: at Saratoga
Hospital and at Saratoga Medical Park at Malta,
6 Medical Park Drive (2nd floor, Malta Med
Emergent Care).
Attorney Brian Lee recently pledged $20,000
to help fund continuing education for emergency
medicine personnel at Saratoga Hospital.
The money was donated to the hospital’s
Brian Lee Law Firm Emergency Medicine Education
Endowment Fund that Lee established
in 2011 with a gift of $15,000.
The endowment will help fund emergency
medicine education for generations to come.
Caelynn Prylo of
Ballston Spa was appointed
director of continuing
education at
SUNY Adirondack.
Prylo most recently
served as assistant director
of Community
and Professional Education/
Center for Effective
Teaching at Hudson
Valley Community College in Troy.
Prylo earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology
with a minor in French from the
University of Vermont and a master’s degree
in curriculum development and instructional
technology from the University at Albany.
Prylo’s new duties will include directing
workforce development initiatives and technology
programs, including contract and grant
training; direct community outreach programs,
including the Summer Enrichment Program
and the Senior Lecture Series; evaluate current
revenue sources and develop new revenue
sources; and develop and build relationships
with the area business community and economic
development entities.
Tech II Business Services, Inc. announced
that Craig Stephenson was promoted to
senior systems consultant.
His main focus at Tech-II is providing new
and existing customers in the Capital Region
and Upstate New York with technology solutions
and customer service.
The company said his experience is highly
diversified through local and international
technology solutions, as well as a solid career
in business and marketing.
Saratoga Hospital’s Dr. Robert Nielson
was named New York state 2014 Family Doctor
of the Year by the state Academy of Family
Physicians.
The award recognizes Nielson’s contributions
as a partner in his patients’ care, according
to the academy.
Nielson is in practice with Saratoga Family
Physicians, which is a member of the Saratoga
Hospital-owned Saratoga Regional Medical
Group. He co-chairs the hospital’s Department
of Family Practice.
Nielson is board certified in family medicine,
with subspecialty certification in sports medicine.
Power Communications, an energy-focused
public relations and
outreach firm, hired
Amanda Favreau as
office manager.
Favreau will work
out of the Saratoga
Springs office and be responsible
for the firm’s
business operations and
client support. She previously
worked at State
Farm in the claims and compliance department,
where she worked with policyholders.
Prior to working at State Farm, she worked
as the assistant manager at the Ballston
Spa National Bank where she oversaw the
branch’s operations, supervised the team
and assisted in the opening of a new branch.
In this position she also worked on the company’s
Internal Improvement Team developing
strategies to increase production time and
customer service.
Favreau attended SUNY Albany for business
administration and SUNY Adirondack Community
College for accounting.
Russell Loeber, M.D., Ph.D., was appointed
medical director of mental health services at
Saratoga Hospital.
Loeber, who is board
certified in psychiatry
and neurology, has
been affiliated with
Saratoga Hospi tal
since 2008. He is a
member of the hospital’s
Saratoga Regional
Medical Group.
Loeber earned his
medical degree and completed an internship
and residency at Boston University School of
Medicine. He also earned a doctor of philosophy
in behavioral neurosciences from Boston
University.
